Bridesmaid Dresses

Typcially - in your experience - how much will the bridesmaid dress set your girls back? What dress are you ordering and how much (ballpark) if you don't mind sharing?

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses

Most of the dresses I have been viewing have been $175 or less. Many is the $109-125 range.

Unfortunately Most online bridal discounters don't carry Jim Hjelm BM dresses. So I will most likely get my dresses from RK Bridal. Their no frills price for the dress I like the most (posted below, but my dresses will have a lilac sash) is $167.

My girl's dresses were approx 150 with a cap of alterations of 55? I think...

It really depends on the designer of the dress.

My girls are wearing this Bill Levkoff #402 in Eurowine. It is $205 with tax. I tried to go the RK BRidal route but my MOH had a baby and we couldn't get accurate measurements without the help of a salon. the dress would have been $115+tax.

We went with a Jim Hjelm dress that was going for anywhere between $232-260 in every bridal salon I called. We wound up purchasing them from NetBride for $161.

I really played bridal stores against each other and got a $65 gown down to $125 with an alteration cap of $65. If you don't care which salon you buy from...definitely play them against each other. I did for my bridal gown to and got that down $250.

I also got a Bill Levkoff..Ordered it from Netbride for $105. I think the store we tried it on in wanted like $150-170, I don't remember the exact price.

These are my dresses ~ I'm told that I can get them for $190, but if you go onto www.bridaldiscounters.com, you can get a free price quote from them. Mine came out to be $111 + $10 shipping per desinger/per address.

My girls are paying $275 at Bridal Reflections for these Lazaro gowns... a little on the expensive side, yes, but we all loved them. I've also paid more than that for BPs that I've been a BM in.

I don't have a picture right now, but mine were $99. $113 with shipping. We got them from RK Bridal's no frills program. IT was equal or less thatn the online vendors & teh stores near my MOH in the Sand Diego area. They are Bella by Venus, from a few seasons back.
( and they just arrived! yay!)

No frills means they won't do the alterations.

And they do not measure you, you have to go on your own.

Basically they give you a form and you tell them how many size 6's, how many size 10's, etc ... you need. You do all the work ... so unless your girls fit into the normal sizes on the chart, then it might be tough. I had a hard time with a BM that had just given birth and her sizes were wacky.

They do measure you if you ask, but only if you bought your wedding down there.

My girls' dress was $150 with $55 cap at alterations. It's the dress with the sleeves.

bumping for Mrs. Madness. This isn't the thread I was thinking of, there are lots of dresses here too. Some repeats though on all 3 threads.
