bridesmaid dresses

Hi

can anyone recommend where i should go shopping for bridesmaid dresses in Brooklyn? I am also open to going to Long Island around hempstead area..

thanks.. i wanted to go this sunday but having a hard time finding places.. i have heard that Bay Ridge has tons...

Do you know what style of dress you are looking for? IMO, don't go to Lestans in Mill Basin b/c I felt that they were really not helpful at all. I went to RK Bridal which has a huge selection. There are a few places in Bay Ridge I can't think of off the top of my head (and I live in Bay Ridge...how sad is that...LOL) but I bought my wedding dress and found my bridesmaid dress from Lotus Bridal on Avenue U....SO nice and helpful. If you want any information on them or anything, FM me. Also, on my way home tonight, if I notice any of the bridal boutiques in Bay Ridge, I'll let you know. Hope this helps!

i live in bay ridge too but i cant think of any place. i got my gown and 8 BM dresses at lestans and so far have had a great experience.

Wow, and I didn't have a good experience. The woman I dealt with was quite rude and they wanted me to bring pictures of the dress and didn't go by style #'s which I thought was very weird. And then she got annoyed with me that I didn't have any pictures of the dress and acted like I was stupid. I had been to a few dress places already at that point and everywhere I had been to wanted style #'s so I don't know. And then when I tried on a maggie Saterro dress and liked it a lot, i asked if they knew the name or style # and they played dumb...it left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm glad that they are working out for you though. My friend Christine ordered her wedding dress from there and everything seems to be fine with her dress too...thats why i went. Maybe it was just the girl I was dealing with.

Yea, I guess it all depends on who you work with and when you go. I had an appointment on a Saturday and there were other brides trying on dresses and it seemed like I was an inconvenience for them and then because I didn't have any pictures, they were doubly (don't know if that's a word...LOL) annoyed with me. But I'm glad it worked out well for you though. Wow! A fellow Bay Ridge person! Awesome!!!!

Yep, we are on opposite ends but its still Bay Ridge. I love the neighborhood. I am surprised that there are as many Brooklyn brides on here as there are. MY FH grew up in LI and I found the RH's much nicer out in LI and more reasonably priced as compared to the ones in Brooklyn. I like having land and all the places in Brooklyn were just buildings...beautiful on the inside but not much on the outside and REALLY expensive.

i hear u. i love it here. i lived in LI for awhile and FH grew up in queens. i had to pull teeth to get him here. but now he loves it and we're looking to buy here.

Wow...thats so awesome. Good luck with that. I grew up in Bensonhurst which is closeto Bay Ridge. All my family lives in Brooklyn (my immediate family) and FH grew up in Manhasset. We were originally looking at LI, but I told him that I wouldn't move to LI unless I drove because you can't get around without a car and I didn't want to rely on him to have to take me to see my family anytime I wanted. So he moved here for me and we both love it. Eventually, we'll probably move to LI when we want to buy a house but not until i'm driving...lol. But I'm hard pressed to leave since I grew up here.
