Bridesmaid dresses

How much is too expensive for a bridesmaid dress? I had planned on staying under $200 for the actual dress because of alterations and accessories, but the dress I love is $210. Have any of you been bridesmaids lately?

i don't think $210 is that bad. For The wedding i was in last month our dresses were 150 with a 50 alteration cap. But i was planning on paying more. It wasn't so bad because we put half down on the dress and didn't have to pay the rest til our final fitting which was a year later. That gave me plenty of time to save, and it didn't feel like it was so much between a wedding gift, chipping in for a shower..etc. I think depending on the financial situations your BMs are in that 210 isn't bad at all!!!

I really think it's something you should talk to your girls about. Everyone's financial situation is different, and some might find it tough to spend that much on a dress.

For me, I sent an email out to all of my girls (I had 9) and asked them what their limit was. After I got that info from them, I worked within their buget. There is ALWAYS nice dresses in every budget We ended up getting Bari Jay dresses for $124 each........GREAT price! And my girls looked beautiful in them.

My sister is in a wedding next month and their dresses are $345 each All of the girls are struggling to pay for these dresses.......

I really struggled with that. I know that some of my girls are doing a lot better than others so we are keeping it hopefully under $100, but seeing as they choose their own dresses they choose the price too

I agree, the best thing to do is talk to your bridesmaids.

Re: Bridesmaid dresses

honestly i never would make anyone spend over $150 for a dress and said it over and over again we went dress shopping and everything the girls really liked was around $150-$220. In the end they decided on a simple blk dress which was $150 with a green sash that was floor length which was $75 so it totaled $225.00 plus tax and alterations. IT was there decision not mine because i felt bad So to answer your question - if the girls really like the dress they will buy it and not have any issues. If the girls find another dress simular for less money then maybe you shoudl pick that one.

Does that price include alterations? Have you shopped around for it?
