Hi Just wanted to get some opinions. For a Saturday Night wedding with ceremony at a church is it ok to have girls in tea length dresses or do you think they should be long?

You can definitely have a tea-length dress on a Saturday night ! They 'should be' whatever you want !!

I think tea length dresses are ok but long dresses are always more elegant looking for a night wedding. But, both are really nice!!!!

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses-Long or Short
It is a personal preference and as the bride it is totally up to you what you want to do for your wedding. I am having an outside afternoon wedding so my girls are wearing tea length dresses. But since you asked for an opinion I'll give you one . . . for an evening wedding in a church if it were my wedding I would do long gowns.

My personal preference is long, but ultimately it is what look you like and want for your big day!

I think you can go with whatever you want. I think long dresses are more formal, so it depends on the feeling you want your wedding to have. We're having a more casual, laid-back summer wedding, so tea-length was more approporate.

My Bms are wearing tea length dresses for a Saturday evening reception.
It's up to you as to what you want them to wear

I think I'm going to go tea length. Maybe the girls will get another use out of the dress!

I likes a tea-length dress and wanted to do that but someone pointed out that guest will be wearing shorter dresses so I would want my Bm's to stand out so I am going to go with the longer dresses, they look more elegant

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses-Long or Short
I wore a black tea length dress as a BM in an evening wedding and I thought it looked fantastic (it wasn't in a chruch but IMO it was one of the more elegant/classy weddings I've been to or in)
Long dresses can be casual and tea length dresses can be fancy...I think it depends more on the dress itself than the length

it depends....for me, 2 of my BM are 5 foot 2 so I think they look better with tea length dress and the other 2 are tall enough that they can get away with long dress...either way, I want them to look and feel good as well

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses-Long or Short
Tea length can be appropriate for a chuech because that length was often worn TO church on Sunday mornings. I don't think the time of day has anything to do with it. I will say though, if you have any short Bm's, make them try it on first because it might ot look great. My MOH is 4'10 so shes REALLY short and her 'tea-length_ derss ahs to be chopped like 5 inches to make sure it's by her calves and not her ankles. Since she is so small, the dress makes her look a little stumpy, but she chose the dress she wanted so she is happy.
Tea length isnt really the most flattering lentgh on any woman unless you're Christy Turlington!

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses-Long or Short
if you've gotten your bridal gown already, the formality of the bridesmaid dresses should reflect the bridal gown. for example, if your gown is extremly extravagant, it would look odd to have tea length dresses for the bridesmaids. does that make sense?

do what you think will look best! i don't believe in following any wedding rules (but i got married at an aquarium, what do i know, right? lol). i had an 'extravegant' wedding dress, i suppose, and my girls wore tea length dresses. my pics are gorgeous, if i do say so myself, and i do not think me being in my big poofy gown and them being in their pretty tea length dresses looked wierd at all in pics. it was a summer night wedding and i think 'the look' we had together was great. i say go for what you really want and what YOU are pictuing in your head. you can create whatever your vision is, not what others think is appropriate.
