Bridesmaid Emergency - Jim Hjelm

Hi All,

My bridesmaid ordered a size 12 dress and she really is a 16!!! Needless to say that she does not fit into the dress!

Does anyone have a size 16 - Jim Hjelm - Just Teas Collection dress in Radiant Chiffon - Color Calypso? See picture attached.

We would buy it from you if you no longer need it!

HELP!!!!!

Why was the wrong size ordered? Can they rush you a new one? What abouta David's Bridal where they have a lot of sizes...also Kleinfelds Bridesmaid Loft has BM dresses in ALL sizes maybe you can buy a floor sample??

Hi - she ordered it via fax machine because she lives out of town and mis-measured herself!

All the other girls already have their dresses, so I guess she either needs to lose a few pounds or get a new dress!

Relax, have them rush order you a new one. They can rush order it and get it in 6-8 weeks.

If that's not possible, see if maybe Phyllis at Gownfind can help you or RK Bridal, they can get them in about 4 weeks sometimes.

A good bridal salon can get you a new dress asap. If you put a super rush on it it can come in as little as 5 wks. Start making calls.

REalx, it will work out, but get calling!

I'm sorry to hear about your problem.

I'd contact a place like RK Bridal and see if they can order it for you in the larger size.

Jim Hjelm is made in the United States. It won't take more than a few weeks to get the dress in. Call any salon and they can rush order you a new one, and send back the old one.

Thanks girls - we are going to try the angle of re-ordering, however when she ordered the dress, she had to sign a waiver that she is not responsible if she doesn't fit into the dress. I really don't want her to have to spend another $180 to get a new dress. I would love to just buy a used one from someone for $50 or so since nobody rewears their bm dresses anyway!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ladies!

For peace of mind, I'd re-order it. She could always sell the smaller size on eBay.

What if she orders additional fabric to enlarge the dress?

Not sure if that is a solution, since the alteration fees can add up.

One of my BM's got measured as a size 18, and when the dress came in, she gained some weight, and the dress didn't fit. It's a Jim Hjlem, and the salon is adding an extra panel in for her, costs $60.

This is definitely a great option!

You have great taste. I actually picked the same dress in the same color, but my wedding is in July so the dresses haven't come in yet. So I don't think that I will be much help. I know 2 of my girls ordered the dress 1 size smaller than the salon suggested because they thought there was no way there were that big. Hopefully they fit them. One is on a massive workout schedule. If not I think that I will be calling you. No one in my bridal party ordered a 16, we had some 12's, 14's and and 18, but no 16. Sorry.

I'm sorry to hear...I would contact Phyllis at gownfind, I'm sure she may be able to help you out. My wedding gown came in 3 months & she is fabulous.
