Bridesmaid gifts????

Which do you think is better/would you would rather receive?

1) A nicer quality necklace/earring set?
2) A cheaper necklace earring set and other fun gifts?

I am having major issues with this! PLEASE HELP!

Thanks!

Re: Bridesmaid gifts????

I am going a little bit cheaper on the necklace sets (Stil nice though - about $30 each) because I bought other fun stuff.

I like the fact that they get to open a lot of stuff.

- GAP Tote
- Monogrammed Cosmetic bag with chapstick in it
- Flip Flops
- Necklace

Definitely #1.

I'd rather get a nice gift than a sorta nice gift + filler stuff. JMHO!

a 'real' piece of jewelry is my preference....

no need for an entire set....

I'd prefer small gifts on the side

nicer quality stuff.

I'd rather have one really nice gift than a bunch of random stuff - most of which I'll never use.

And let's be honest... how many totes does a person need? I know I certainly have more than I use...

my fiance's family does that for Christmas - get a bunch of little stuff. It's actually kind of annoying, because I end up with a pile of random stuff that I don't want that will just take up space in my closet.

I would like either-no preference really.

Truthfully consider this if you are leaning towards a nicer jewelry set. If your BMs already have a nice peice of jewelry that they wear on the regular OR they accessorize all the time they may not wear it as often.
This is what changed my mind about getting the girls a nice peice of jewelry, they wont wear it that often. So instead, I got them a cheaper peice of jewelry for the day of and other stuff that I know is a little more use-able after the day.

Good luck and HTH

I got my girls a lesser quality necklace (diamond circle of life from overstock) and got/ will get a bunch of small fun stuff like a pink flask, BM mug, nice picture frame, possible small photo album, etc. And for my MOH I am also getting the love knot compact mirror and will get it engraved for her.

Definitely nicer stuff. I'm not a big fan of costume jewelry so I got my girls 14k gold necklaces. I'm hoping that they'll get more use out of them.

The only thing about getting them jewelry is that not every BM has the same taste. You don't know if they will use it again.

Thanks girls for your input! I still don't know haha... I think I'm just going to keep on looking and whatever i end up liking most then I'll just make the decision.......

Are any of you just letting them wear whatever jewelry they want and just getting other gifts for them?

Re: Bridesmaid gifts????

Its tough-I kind of agree with others that many gifts, if not thng they can use daily, can add up to more clutter in the closet. HOWEVER, I know many women have a fave piece of jelwery they wear everyday so to replace it might be hard. My mom gave me a beautiful 3 diamond necklace for Christmas, but the FH gave me a heart pendant 2 years ago to replace one he gave me on our first anniversary, so when I wear hers, he pouts and vice versa. Its a apin in the neck!

I like the idea of personalizing the gifts for each girl-spend about the same on each one but customize it. If one likes to cook for random example, focus her gift(s) around that theme like a great cookbox and bright colored measuring cups or something she will use all the time. If one is a diva and loves fashion, be cute with it and get her a customized makeup bag and accessories like a mirror compact with rhinestone designs. That way even if you give them many little items, they each get things that won't just collect dust.

I am letting my girls wear their own jewlery. i suggested chandelier earrings and ask they wear no necklaces (high halter styles) but I didnt specify what color or style. I bought my BMs their dresses as their gift (they are MUCH younger than me-cousins) and for my MOH I am buying her several little things as I suggested for your girls.
