bridesmaid help!
Ok, so one of my bridesmaids dropped out today. We are 6 months from the wedding and the dresses are due in any day now. I don't know if she is expecting me to reimburse her or not but the shop won't do refunds which I understand fully. I can probably get a cousin or another friend to step in but I feel awkward asking. I need opinions asap please! Thanks!

Oh no! So sorry to hear that. I kind of went through a similar situation but that happened before any dress had been ordered. Was it her decision to back out? Not sure how this should be handled. I mean as a bridesmaid one has to know once dress has been ordered there is no refund should you decide to return it.

It was her decision. She gave the excuse I never realized how expensive it is, even though I sent out a price sheet for everything and then the excuse her ex will be there and she will be too depressed seeing him even though when they broke up I made sure she would be ok with him being there seeing he is the best man.

If that's the case, I'm sorry she will just have to cut her losses. She already knew her ex was going to be there as well as you gave her the price for everything. It was her decision as well as her loss. I feel bad for her but she really should have thought this through before she commit to it. Very sorry you have to go through this. So don't mean to be mean about it but it was not like she went in not knowing.

I would DEFINITELY not be reimbursing her. You even told her how much it would be. 6 months out is rude

I wouldn't reimburse her. She should have backed out from the beginning or right before she purchased her dress. If you feel you have another friend or a cousin who won't mind being asked 6 months in advance, go for it!

She won't be coming to the wedding now. Thanks for the advice. I told her sorry but you knew he was the best man and was gonna be there for the past year and a half and to decide 3 months after ur dress was ordered and 6 month before is not my problem. I am gonna ask my cousin though.

Glad you told her its not your problem. To do that 6 months before the wedding and then to not go at all too just because her ex is going to be there, I find that so rude, especially when she knew it all up front. We just had the best man drop out of our wedding, more because he is a legit psychopath than anything else. lol but I can relate. I hope it all works out for you! Don't let someone else's irrational actions give you stress!

I am so sorry you're going through this. Such unneccesary drama when this is about you and your FH. I'm sorry but it is true. It is not about her and the ex situation. They're both adults, behave like it. Stand your ground and I'm sorry but no refunds from you what so ever. If you find a replacement in this short time period that can use her dress, then maybe - maybe that person can give something towards the dress. As in if it needs alterations then it's a best offer kind of thing. This way your bridal party is even and uniformed. This is your time and I completely understand what you are going through. My mother and sister have been stirring the pot for two weeks causing drama, making excuses and crap saying they should probably not attend my wedding this Saturday. This Saturday! My mother and sister! That's right! The MOB and the MOH both need to be bow down to, two weeks before the wedding because it can't just be about me and this time in my life. It has to be about them as always. For a year and half now they've thrown their darts here and there with crap but I definitely didn't think they would actually want to ruin it for me by stressing me out up to about two hours ago when I shut my phone off to avoid listening to their crap. As if I didn't have enough to do right now. I hope this all works out soon so you can enjoy the rest of the planning in anticipation to the big day. Good luck and congratulations!

You did everything right. Don't give her back anything. If it so happens your cousin is the same dress size then she is luck but if not ohhh welllWelcome New Vendors
