BRIDESMAID HOODIES OR T-SHIRTS?

ok so i really want to give my bridesmaids either a hoodie or a long sleeve or short sleeve shirt?? i have about 10 girls to buy for and the hoodies seem to be very expensive but i think its the only apropriate thing to get for them considering my wedding is in november (2009) and would giving them a short sleeve shirt be a little silly?? i dunno!! i need some feedback girls and tell me what you think!!

also i was thinking, maybe i can buy the hoodies at like old navy or something and than personalize them myself with going to michaels and buying my own rhinestones or whatever and personalizing them with their name and BRIDESMAID on the hoodie instead of ordering them made where they would cost a fortune to have to order 10 of them!! plus for the flower girl, little bride, ring boy and little groom!!

tell me what you girls think.. and if anyone has made their own personalize shirts or hoodies for their bridesmaid let me know and or post pics if you have.. id love to get ideas and know how you did them too!! :) thanks girls!!

I'd say wait till the end of the season and get sweatshirts from Old Navy or any store that will have them on sale. Then you can maybe find a place that will give you a discount since you are getting 10 things embroidered, or get the iron on from Michaels.

I bought tank tops for $5 each at Old navy and then bought iron ons from Jo Ann Fabrics...so each girls tank cost me $10.

I was going to do the hoodie thing also, but got a ton of feedback from my girls & they found the long sleeved shirts to be more practical. You can find the hoodies, tshirts, & long sleeved shirts at the AC Moore in Bethpage for really cheap & I believe this week there is an additional 20% off of them.

I say wait until you can get some zip up hoodies on sale somewhere and buy an iron on and personalize them yourself. It will work out to be much more cost effective than buying them premade...

i say buy them tank tops that they can wear under their own hoodies.. cheapest option.. and i dont think they will really be wearing it much after the wedding is over.

yeah i was thinking of maybe buying the hoodies at oldnavy and than either buying the rinestones and doing it myself.. but what do you girls mean by the iron on from michaels?? what is that exactly??

you can buy iron on letters.... you'll spell out BM or whatever you want to write... you set them up on the hoodie and then run an iron over it.... then the letters stick on to the shirt. its really easy and quick.... 1..2...3...

Hoodies are $10 right now at Old Navy -- and good heavy ones.

I bought mine there and had it embroidered at Stitch Art in Tri County

thats cute but i want to give them hoodies so we can all wear together the morning of the wedding when we go get our hair and makeup done.. i think that will be cute! :)

I think tshirts are fine, they can always wear them year round under a zip up.

If it saves you alot of time and $ go with the t-shirts. I'm sure they will love them.

yeah you're right about that, but i dunno i think i like the hoodies idea just cause i think their cute and are more nicer for november since that is when my wedding is cause hopefully if its nice enough where they only need a hoodie to wear than thatd be perfect but like with a t-shirt theyd need to wear a sweater or jacket if its not warm enough just for that if you know what i mean, hehe.. i like how the hoodies look too, ive seen lots of girls with pics on here and their adorable! :)

by the way girls i have a question to those who have gave their girls hooties, tanks or shirts like that.. when do you give it to them!? i was thinking at the rehersal dinner, but than that just leaves them with the morning of the wedding to wear it and thats it.. have you girls given it to your girls way before so they can wear it other times thru out the wedding planning?? like for the bachelorette night, or any other nights the girls go out together, maybe even the bridal shower cause i have seen girls wear their shirts at that time too.. i dunno its just an idea and i was wondering what other girls have done?? =]

are you planning to do the hoodies as their bm gifts or something additional to it? just keep in mind that they might wear the hoodies the day of your wedding but other than that they probably wont go out with a hoodie that says BM on them.

I didnt do matching shirts for bachelorette or shower. But i have seen it for a bachelorette party before.

I bought a hoodie at old navy and had the stitching done at tri-county, the stitching cost $25

Zip up hoodies are on sale right now at Kohls. I think I paid $13 for mine.

you paid for 25 bucks for each hoodie to be stiched at tri county?? if that was per hoodie thats crazy, thats like what you pay for the hoodie itself.. lol!
