So my cousin lives in south carolina and is one of my bridesmaids . . she's been struggling with her weight for the past couple of years and is trying to lose weight before my wedding. She's coming to visit in April and we planned on going BM dress shopping then so that she could order her dress while she was here. She just emailed me wanting to know if she could wait until SEPTEMBER to order her dress when she comes to visit (which I'm assuming is when my shower will be - nice give away haha).
I told her that I think its just going to be way too late but now she is upset - Should I just let her order it late and have to pay rush fees? I can't make all my BMs do that, so they would have to order them separately - does it really matter if they come from the same 'batch'?? I don't want to be bridezilla

September is cutting it close, but you can hold off on ordering. I mean I'm not ordering until June. A lot can happen within those 7 months. Can she get measured somewhere in SC and call in her measurements? I've done that before and that's what my girls from OOT are doing. Let he know the dress can be altered as well!

I think september is cutting it way to close. Even with rushing you still need time for alterations. Also, I know a bride who had her bridesmaids order dresses and different times and they were slightly different shades of the same color. All the dresses should be cut from the same dye lot to prevent that.

September is WAAAYY too close. I ordered my BM dresses in November, now I'm told they wont be in until the end of March.

I agree with the girls who say order it at her current size and alter it if it comes in much smaller.

You are not being a bridezilla... I feel that us brides hear that word being thrown around so much we are now afraid and have turned into door mats.
I would just be honest. Im sorry but its too late. But itll feel really good when the dress has tobe taken in!
Explain that its policy that all dresses have to be ordered together. Its out of ur hands...

We went back and forth and she is okay with it - I think she was just scared of seeing 'the size' especially since dress sizes are bigger than street clothes.
She's going to order in April and looks forward to getting it taken in!
Thanks again girls

no i would tell her to just order it bigger.. you want all the color dye lots to be the same and you want to have them al sent out together to ensure they will be here.. thats cutting it really close!.. only allowng only 2 months.. tell her the place wont send themout until she does hers... thats what my places rule was anyway.. if she orders it bigger she can always take it in. thats not a big deal.. but waiting for it would drive me nuts!
