bridesmaid luncheon

bridesmaid luncheon

Maybe this is a dumb question...but is the bride supposed to throw a luncheon or something for the bridesmaids? Do people still do this?

Re: bridesmaid luncheon

For my brother's wedding, my SIL treated the bridesmaid to breakfast and then we went shopping for dresses

its not mandatory but people do this
i think for me its too hard getting everyone together (even the day before and after) and no one really knows each other well enough to enjoy time spent together.

It's a nice idea if you have the time and can afford it, but I've been a bridemaid myself and never expected one.

We're paying for dinner the night before and breakfast the morning after; that's enough for me!

It sounds like a really nice idea, but I don't think most BM's expect this. I know for me it would be difficult to get them all together...they don't all live in NY and they all work different hours. However, when we did go looking for dresses I did treat all those who could stay afterwards to lunch, but it wasn't anything fancy.

Re: bridesmaid luncheon

I was stressing about it because I no longer live on Long Island and neither does one of my bridesmaids. I know they had a hectic time choosing a weekend for my shower, so I don't know if I can pick another weekend when everyone is actually available. lol! Life gets so busy! Thanks for the advice!
