bridesmaid question!!! help! (with poll) UPDATED WITH PIC
so....i have a problem. i originally was going to have just an moh (my sister), but in the end i decided to add my friend as a bm as well. my sister and i went to look at dresses and picked one out in october. i still have not gone with my bm to look at dresses (specifically the one that i picked for my sister). i was just told that we need to order the dress within the next 2 weeks. the only time i have available to go with her in that time is next weekend, but they don't have any appointments available. SO, the only time that she can go is mlk day, when i will be away. is it ok to ask her to go alone? is it ok to tell her she has the choice of going alone or not being in the wedding? (i wouldn't be that upset if i just went back to the one moh) what would you do?
when i asked her to go by herself, she basically ignored it and said we should just pick another dress (not because she doesn't like the dress but because she doesn't want to go to this place alone...so she wants to find a place where we can go together). but i don't want another dress!!!!
If you've already picked out the dress, she can go to get measured on her own. You don't NEED to be there.

My sister (MOH) has went on her own this week. I gave her dress styles. I live in Queens and she lives in LI, and it was easier that way. She didn't mind. My girls this weekend are going to try on the dress on their own because I have another appt. I think it's fine!

im being honest.. its rude to tell her she cant be in the wedding because of a time line for a dress when its not really her fault....
with that being said... tell her you and MOH love dress A. go look at. if you dont like it, keep designer, keep color and material, and pick three dress she likes. When you get home or whenever, you will look online and choose for her
they can have different dresses

Just ask her to go alone. I went by myself when I got my BM dress.

I think she should just order it on her own! I think once she has the dress style she should be ok. Let her take pics of herself in it and then send it to you.

since you already know which dress you want, maybe you don't need an appointment and can go together after all.
if you do need one, then have her go alone ... i would def NOT ask her to choose between going alone or being in your wedding.

i'm just worried about asking her to go on her own b/c she's totally NOT interested in this wedding at all and i feel like it's burdening her.

well if you def want them in the same dress you have to tell her that. let HER either give in, or opt out of weddding. but i doubt anyone will drop out because she doenst like the dress
If you are willing to have them in same color dif dress, then let her pick.
again its all your vision ya know?

I don't think it's such a big deal for her to go alone. I don't think she'll mind. If she makes a big fuss then explain it to her and then she can decide if she wants to be in it or not.

i can't believe that people actually opt out of weddings bc of dress style or color (I know they do, but i can't believe it).
I don't think it's a problem for her to go alone. I've done it and never felt weird about it. It's YOUR choice, not hers... Sorry to say, but it's true. It's YOUR wedding!!!!!!!
I agree with letting her either give in or opt out, though. You call the shots this time (nicely, but still....)
no it's not a problem with the dress!! she likes the dress, she just doesn't want to go alone! so this place doesn't have appts so she said let's just get it from somewhere else.

I agree
Alos, Did you ask the salon to call you in case of a cancellation? If it were me I'd beg them to find a way to fit me in. I Can't really blame her for wanting to go with you and not by herself.

the only problem with getting on a waiting list is that it would be the last possible day that we could order the dress....so if we don't get in, then we would have no alternative.
