so I posted a few weeks ago. . .. In November I had asked my bridesmaids to order their dresses by January 9, 2010 and I offered to go with them when they ordered it. I figured I would give the a lot of time with the holidays and such, here we are on 1/13 almost 1/14 and I am waiting for one more BM to get measured, I talked to her on Saturday and she has been so busy with work she promised that she would order the dress this week. She did not order the dress yet. I called her on Tuesday and left her a voice mail and I just tried to call her and her cell went to VM after 2 rings – what do I do? The bridal shop wants to put the order in on Friday
tell her if she doesn't place the order by friday she runs the risk of not getting the dress and may not be able to be in the wedding. I am so sick of peoples crap it ain't funny

heck i'd tell her the dress is not going to be in in enough time if she doesn't order it by tomorrow. sounds like she needs the old whoopass.

unfortunately Marie you have to put your foot down. you gave her enough time..just tell that dress has to be ordered by Friday or else she might not get a dress in time.

Why does everyone have to be so damned difficult????? Whenever I got the info for bridesmaid dresses for any wedding I have ever been in I took care of it ASAP. What is with people???? Hmmmm, what to do.... Tell her the order needs to be placed by such and such date or she runs the risk of not getting it in time or it will be a different dye lot than the rest of the girls. Or tell her the rate they gave you is only good until then and it goes up by $XX after that...
I just emailed my girls all of the info on the dress... I'm taking two of them tomorrow to be measured, one I know is going when she gets back from vaca and then that just leaves two more... fingers crossed!!!

ITA and tell her that she'll have to pay extra $$$ for rush delivery if it's not done by friday. Bet she'll get herself there after that!

I would call her and leave a VM saying that you are going to go ahead and order her dress, but order a size or two bigger Make sure you tell her what size you will be ordering...that will fix her!!
Seriously, just tell her to put her azz to the grass...

sweetie dont worry about it - it could be alot worst- im getting married in 8 months - and my second maid of honor- ( my cousin who is like my older sister) just dropped out last night on me- and took her husband out of my wedding too.... :*(

Thanks Girls, this was the voice mail I left her on tuesday. . . . . . . . . I hate to be a pain in the butt - but I guess I have to email her today!
every time I have been an a wedding I have run to the store to get measured asap! I don't get it!

ita. this totally *****. tell her if she cant order it by friday, then its gonna b difficult to be a BM...is it possible she is looking for an 'out'?

Marie, I know EXACTLY how you feel. I told all my girls on November 3rd that I wanted to order the dresses by this Friday, Jan 15th.
I have 2 girls who are just NOT responsive. One who I havn't talked to since July basically. Other than 1 short email in November when she said she would take care of getting measured within 2 weeks and another girl who has what she needs and just isn't calling the Bridal Salon.
This is driving me crazy!

the vm you left her was very nice and simple but at the end of the day you cant put things on hold for one bm.

Ugh - well, if you really believe she is busy with work and can't get her butt in gear (and isn't just lazy), I'd order her a larger size than she is like a previous poster said, and then tell her she owes you the dress deposit.
