Bridesmaid total expenditures

Bridesmaid total expenditures

I have googled and searched and I have no idea what's reasonable to ask my bridesmaids to spend on expenses for my wedding. What are your bridesmaids spending on the dress, shower, etc?

Mine is:

Dress:$250 + alterations

Shoes: $60 (the girls have short dresses)

Hair/Makeup: $200 (I'm debating on whether I should pick up the tab for this, as I would like all the girls to get their hair/makeup done professionally)

Shower: My mom is throwing the shower, so no expense

Batchelorette Party: Not sure yet what my MOH has planned yet, but probably only $100 max

Dresses 196 + alterations. I saw dresses more expensive and less expensive

Shoes - they can pick their own - just have to be black sandals. I'm sure they all have a pair already.

hair - The girl I'm having is $75.00 but I told them they could use whoever they wanted. The girl is coming to my house the morning of. They all chose to use her though.

Shower - I have no idea. I have 8 girls though so split between them it shouldn't be too crazy.

Bachelorette party - No idea. I told my sister she's in charge so whatever they decide to do!

Your best bet is to talk to your girls and see what they are comfortable with. Another idea is for the BM gift get them certificates for hair or something like that.

gown: $160

alterations: capped at $80

hotel: $139 per night but each room sleeps up to 6 people so they could split that 6 ways if they really wanted to

shoes: trying to find something under $50

hair/makeup: makeup is $65, haven't done hair yet. not forcing the girls to get anything done but the option is there if they want it.

bach party: probably about $100 - nothing too crazy

shower: $0 - my mom is throwing it so really just a gift if they want to bring one.

Dress:$115 + alterations (All they need is a hem)

Shoes: Silver Strappy - whatever they have (dresses are long)

Hair/Makeup: 170 for hair and make-up total. Their decision if they want to have it done - They all decided yes

Shower: My Sister and MOH is throwing it

Bachelorette Party: Weekend in AC and I have no idea about anything - cost, plans, etc. and that's just how I like it! lol

The dress came out to $157 before alterations (alterations they will have to pay themselves).

I told them they can wear any black peep toes they wanted to so if they already have a pair than no money spent in that department.

As far as the shower, my mother said she is covering everything. She said if the girls want to take charge of the fun stuff like decoarions and games than they can handle that.

I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible for them.

Dress - I went with a dress that one of MOH already had so she didnt have to buy a new one. The other MOH spend 120$ on the dress then she will need alterations.

Shoes... this hasn't even been discussed hahah i dont care what they wear so thats their call.

I'm taking care of hair and make up for them.

They are taking care of the shower so I hope they dont do anything too crazy since i have a lot of family.

I think that sounds very reasonable!

Mine is:
Dress: $180 + alterations
Shoes: any shoes they want (silver) bc the dresses are long
Hair/Makeup: probably around $150. I havent priced it out yet.
Shower: my mom is throwing the shower too
Bach Party: No idea...my sister is in charge
Hotel: $199 for the night of the wedding

Edit for Hotel cost

I have stressed over this sooooo much! I did not want any of my BMs breaking their backs to pay for my wedding expenses. It was literally making me sick. My mom is not throwing me a shower and I told my girls that I did not have to have one, but they love me and they are great friends so they are throwing one for me! I am not involved in the planning at all, so I have no idea what they are up to. As for the rest of the expenses, the dresses were $216 + alterations, I am letting them wear any type of silver shoe (the dresses are long), and we will probably do something pretty low key for the bachelorette party. Oh and hair is $75 and makeup is $55, but I am giving them the option of doing their own hair and makeup :) HTH!

Mine are:

Dress- $180 plus alterations
Shoes- whatever they want
Hair- not forcing them to do it, but if they do its $75
Makeup- also not making them do it but it would be another $75

Shower- Mom is paying

Bach party- Not sure, we are going wine tasting out east, but hopefully no more than $100 each.

I was VERY concerned about my girls spending a lot of money since some are in grad school still

All of my bridesmaids are local with the exception of one. They don have hotel expenses. My mom offered a room in her house to the one girl who is out of state.

I have been really careful with the expenses so far for my bridesmaids.

I was in a wedding last year where the bride had us spending over $1k in attire, parties and accesories. She wasn't clear about how much everything was ahead of time, and it was always last
minute when we needed to pay for things for her wedding. Needless to say we aren't friends anymore.

I don't want to have my bridesmaids to shell out nearly that much.

bm dresses: 200 + alterations

shower - no idea, maybe just the gift?

hair and MU - i'm letting them go to whatever salon they want and get their hair and/or MU done if they chose to

bachelorette party - we're going to vegas. I think flight + hotel will be btw 500-600 plus food and drinks. They don't mind spending the $ b/c it's like a mini vacation for them.

shoes - they're wearing long dresses so they can wear any silver shoes that they want
