Bridesmaid vent

Bridesmaid vent

I just wanted to know if anyone else is having a problem with their bridesmaids. I have one bridesmaid (who I''ve basically considered my best friend for years now) who wants absiolutely nothign to do with my wedding. I don't think she is jealous that I am getting married or anything. She got a bf a about 6 months ago and spends all her time with him (which I understand as well bc in a new relationship that is how its going to be), but she barely calls or emails me anymore..I am always initiating it. One of my other BMS (who I have gotten closer with) told her that I was getting really stressed about certain aspects of the wedding and she said to her..whats to be so stressed about? Then she asked her if she had wanted to help her with some things regarding the bridal shower and she said she was too busy with her bf..figuring out what to buy him for christmas..his birthday etc...

I just dont understand it..For the longest time she didnt have a bf and made me feel guilty for having one..I would take her out with me all the time and now she has completely abandoned not only me but my other friends..

It just makes me feel likd crap that shes not even excited in the least for me and doesnt want to help..

Thanks for letting me vent..I'm just surprised that I have a friend like this and she doesnt even realize how shes treating everyone..

P.S. and her bf is a loser lol

aww I know how you feel. My one BM I had to buy her dress for her, and hasn't put a dime towards my shower, I understand shes in school and all but so am I. She hasn't even offered to do other things that don't even cost money, i dunno I just think sometimes girls are petty and only care about themselves! But here are some hugs for you because I know how you feel and it suckcs!

I think it's safe to say we've all been through this. I've had so many friends that once they got a bf, they fall off the face of the earth. I call it their 'honeymoon period'. It's pretty crappy that this happened right around the time of your wedding planning but girls in the honeymoon phase can be extremely selfish. It'll calm down in a few months, it always does.

That totally sux, what sux even more is that weddings tend to bring out the worst in people.

Honestly tho, it's a nice way to flush out peoples true colors.

I won't go into detail but I had one of my very best friends just stop answering my calls and stop calling me/e-mailing me/myspace msg me. Her dress is paid for and ordered but I haven't spoken to her in at least 2 months and don't plan on ever seeing her again. She never showed up to my shower and that was it. It's very unfortunete but obviously she doesn't care so, why should I? I won't stress myself over something I can't do anything about.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Maybe you could try to go to lunch or something and talk it out?

I went through this too. I mentioned it on here and was feeling very fustrated. However that BM I had issues with did total turn around on her own! I was very happy about that. I think you should have a heart to heart with her and let her know your stresses

You can vent anytime . First and foremost, I am sorry she is being an unsupportive brat, but honestly I do think its a form of jealousy and is very selfish. I have the same problem with my best friend who seems disinterested. Which is crazy to me because I have always supported her and bent over backwards for her. One thing I realize is that this wedding will force the 'real' person to come out. Keep your eyes open and take note and you will notice other things as well.

that is so true I will say it over & over everyones true colors come out in times like these you shouldnt have to feel like this- approach her and let her know how you feel why should you be the one upset

some people dont know how important this time of your life is. dont let -her not helping with the wedding ruin the friendship you dont have-

Let her ruin it.
