Bridesmaids--

Being a bridesmaid myself (Two Times this year alone!) I'd love to know what your biggest complaints about your bridesmaids are?

On the flip side, what are some of the nicest things your BM's have done for you?

Re: Bridesmaids--

My MOH is totally on top of things and taking care (very diplomatically ) of the BP drama that can be created.

Other than that my BP are staying out of it. I haven't asked them for much though. None of them has done something specifically wonderful (yet anyway)

All my bridesmaids don't know each other or particularly care for each other, but I'd say bridesmaidfornow....is the BEST!!!!

Hi Peepee!!!

I think for the most part, in all wedding planning, brides have some kind of expectation, whether it be big or small, and totally not in a bad way.. you just realize who your true friends are during this time and what makes it soo profound and hurtful is the fact that during all this planning what will be the most important day of your life, you'd think people would be happy for you and want to be a part of it and rather they really don't give a crap at times..

You just have to take your losses as gains and know that things happen for a reason and have a way of working themselves out..

I have made friends now who I know I should ask and didn't.. Girls who mean more. But when the time comes for when I go to get dreses is when I will worry about it..

I kicked one girl out already bc she isn't worthy of it and she is not who I want around me on my day..

At the happiest time in your life you LEARN who is real and who isn't!!

Re: Bridesmaids--

The worst thing for me would be the people that say they will be able to do cvertain things, ie dress shopping, helping with floweres and then when the day comes, they are not available. BM sometimes don't realize that we have appt's set up, and if you told me we would be going, I have made plans around that. ( This is something that annoys me in general, regardless of the wedding).

The best things that my Bm's have done for me is to be genuinely exicted to help me and to let me talk incessantly about my wedding. Three of my BM's are really happy that I am getting married and that they are in the BP, and they are exicted to talk about it too.

You seem like you are going to be a wonderful BM!!

I've been a BM numerous times this past year and there will always be issues, weather the bride knows about them or not. Some girls will always be more non-existent than others but I really don't worry about it. I can understand if they don't have as much as time as others, b/c I was there. So overall, so far so good!

Re: Bridesmaids--

I just thought of another thing, when my MOH got married, any rpobalems that we had with in the bridal party, like epoople not chipping in time & money, we never let her know about, the bride has too much goign on, so we always tried to not let her in on the details, and she really appreciated it, because alot of the poblems she recognized, but on her own and she didn't want to deal with the issues.

Re: Bridesmaids--

What kind of issues can a bridesmaid have and not share with the bride.
Aren't they friends in the first place?
I would. I would be HONORED to be asked to be so special and stand by my
FRIEND when her love is sworn to her future hubby.
I think so many people are selfish and make excuses and can't be adults
and step up to the plate and talk about how they really feel...Edited to say..
So many of us brides are going through the samething on here so we can
all relate..
Why can't it be MY day and about me for once and not about the DRAMA in
their life! When you get married you see who ur friends are...
I love my girls even with all the headaces they give me

Re: Bridesmaids--

I have 3 BM's. One lives in NJ so she never gives me any aggrivation. She wants to be at everything and though she lives in a different state she tries her best to always be at my side.

My other BM is my cousin, toni-ann. She is an angel. She goes on wedding websites all day and emails me pictures of bouquets, bridal gowns, BM's dresses, shoes, etc...she calls me up and asks me if its ok if she does her own make up, how do i want my girls to wear there hair, she sends me hair pics, etc...she is the best

the other BM is FI's cousin. She can be a real pain in the you know what. She is very sweet and big hearted but somtimes she jumps the gun too fast.

I have 2 MOH's. A maid and a matron. My maid she is wonderful. I've known her for 10 years. I call her my twin

my matron lives in FL and we talk once a week. I keep her informed of everything. I havent spoken to her in a about 2 weeks or so because she had a miscarriage and she just wanted her space a little so i didnt want to throw wedding stuff at her. I will definatly give her a call tomorrow though.

the bad part of my girls with 2 of them out of state dress shopping for them may be hard, but i can just send them an email and what shops have the dress and they can go and try it on.

so far so good with all my girls

Re: Bridesmaids--

I haven't really needed my BM's just yet. My MOH volunteers all the time and although I love her to death, I don't want to take away her time. Because her concern right now should be passing a 3rd part of the CPA exam. And I value that. I don't want to put a burden on her just b/c she is my MOH. My other MOH, my sister, is in school so I understand when she can't come with me to look at dresses b/c she has to study and work. I work around their schedule when I need to.

I have one BM who has not asked to help in any way, shape or form. I ask her to look for things for me anyway. I won't ask her to come see me try on gowns b/c I don't have time nor the patience to hear her sob story of where her son will be left, if she can find a babysitter b/c her husband refuses to stay alone with the baby for over 30 minutes. That is a whole other story. I know why she has a lack of interest. Its very obvious but again, that is a whole other story...
She is going to be the problematic BM I see.
Another BM who has a very outspoken personality already told me I will talk to her when we start planning your shower. Good b/c I don't plan on getting involved. And I don't want my mom involved either. She is liable to smack her silly if she doesn't cooperate!
