Bridesmaids All Over

Bridesmaids All Over

To keep our wedding party small, we have decided to go with 3 attendants each. I am having my sister, my Fiance's sister and my best friend.

The problem is...My sister lives in LA, my Fiance's sister lives in Long Island and my friend lives in South Jersey near me. My sister just happens to be the hardest fitting b/c of her measurements. Where should I look for their dresses and how the heck am I going to coordinate fittings?

You can also go to the fashion section of http://www.weddingchannel.com to find dresses for ideas. Good news is, it seems like several of the designers have updated their selections online to the current 2001 catalogs already!

My MOH lives down south. When she came up in early December, the only day she was able to go was a day my other bridesmaid had to work. So, she and I went out and the shop took her measurements. A few weeks later, I was able to go back with the other girl, who loved the latest dress we had been discussing and she was also measured, then left a deposit. The next day, I called my MOH and Bridal Suite of Bay Shore took her deposit over the phone so we could get the process rolling.

You could always go with a designer like Nicole Miller, who has showrooms across the nation. They are a little pricey, but not terrible, and her dresses are beautiful.

I used Pedestals for my wedding this past September at the Fox Hollow they were great I also started out pricey and then I found something else a different centerpiece that I liked and my centerpiece had candles in it and I purchased the candles on my own which brought down the price as well. I loved everything they did with the flowers from my bouquet to the girls bouquets to everything. Try to see if you could change the type of flowers that are in the centerpiece maybe that would help bring the price down. I had all roses and I pretty sure we only paid about $1600 or $1800 but it wasn't too pricey. Hope this helps there quality of flowers is beautiful.

A lot of the designers (Watters & Watters, Jim Hjelm) can be found in any bridal salon throughout the country. If you decide on a particular dress and color, ask your bridesmaids to order the dress at a salon near them. Just make sure you tell give them the designer name, style # and color. One of my bridesmaids is in Washington and won't be here til the actual wedding. She ordered the dress by her and the other girls got their dress here in NY.

Thanks everyone!

I picked a bunch of dresses that I like from theknot.com today and added them to my scrapbook. (All popular designers) I will go over these with my bridesmaids and then get measurements from my sister. I'm sure she will come home some time in the summer and can try on her dress then.
