Bridesmaids and Bridal Showers???

Re: Bridesmaids and Bridal Showers???
Yes everyone that is mature enough to have a steady job should have to conribute. I read in an etiquette book that the parents should not pay for anything but sometimes it needs to be done. The maid of honor is basically in charge of organizing and should communicate with the bms to see if everyone can afford it. I know when I was a MOH I certainly couldn't afford to pay for everything but I did pay for a lot.

I think that the MOB should not pay for everything unless its going to be at a place that nobody can afford. I think that when you agree to be a BM then you should think about whether or not you can afford the responsibility. Friendship isn't established by what we can pay for and it shouldn't be about that. If you know that you are struggling financially then you shouldn't accept the responsibility of being a BM. I know I wouldn't be offended if someone turned me down as a BM. it doesn't change our friendship. Unfortunately these things get expensive.

Traditionally the entire BP chips in for the shower. Lately, as tradition and etiquette are becoming a thing of the past, whoever has the $$ seems to be who pays.

my mother is paying for the place, my moh is paying for decorations and mog is paying for favors. when i was a bm i just bought extra goodie since her mom paid for the party.

I think the MOH should pay more and def do more. I think it's approrpriate when all the girls chip in!
Re: Bridesmaids and Bridal Showers???
My mother is giving me my party. I would not think the BP would... or MOH...would have the party for me.
Re: Bridesmaids and Bridal Showers???
In my cousin's wedding, the other girls were closer to her, but I helped with putting together the favors....and I contributed in the cost, but they also understood that I was a college freshman, and that they all had 'adult' jobs and were able to contribute more than me, so I put in a little and they split the rest between themselves
