Just wondering where is a good place to look for bridal party dresses? My daughter is getting married in Nov. Her FH cousin (she's in her early 40's and her daughter 17) are in the bridal party. They went to the place where my daughter bought her wedding gown. The girls found a dress there that they were going to order. Meanwhile, her daughter has a prom and bought a dress for the prom there. Well, it seems the dress came in, and it was 2 sizes bigger that the girl wears. She wears a 4 and the dress is an 8, so they want to charge her $100 for alterations!! The mom is pissed. I don't know if she didn't check to make sure of the size before it was ordered, but now I don't think she wants to get the dresses for the wedding there. My daughter will call her tonite to get the whole story. She heard this from her FSIL. If it came in the wrong size by mistake, I would not have accepted it. I would have told the to reorder it and put a RUSH on it. So we may have to start looking at dresses in other places.

Re: Bridesmaids dresses?
I suggest Estelle's in Farmingdale on 110; also try David's Bridal.
They both have a decent selection of BM dresses at discounted prices. Most of the time, you are able to walk in, try a dress on, and buy it on the spot.
Good luck!

If you like the dress-next time you are there find out the designer and style number and then go to the designer's website and see what other stores sell it.

Re: Bridesmaids dresses?
We got our dresses at Helen's in Commack. The service was great, we got a good price and the dresses are in early! No alterations yet though so I can't tell you how they are there.

Estelle's and Davids are both really good for BM dresses. Also you cn try The Wedding Center in Commack, thats where my girls got theres and there hasnt been any complaints. Theres also a place in the Centereach area that I can't think of the name of thats really good.

I would try Davids, keeps cost down for the girls, and is easy for out of town bridal party members. GL
