Hey future brides,

Quick question.

I wanted to know if you girls are paying for your bridesmaids hair & makeup to be done on your wedding day? I am so confused if this is something that is expected or if the bridesmaid pay for their own hair/makeup if they want it done.

I wish I could but it is not in the budget. I did not make anyone get their hair and M/U done though. So they can do as they want.

ive been a bridesmaid in many weddings and this was never paid for by the brides in my experience... alot of times if the bride has a makeup/hair girl coming to the house the morning of she will give bridesmaids the option of using her as well but the bridesmaids pay for it.. Sometimes ive gotten my hair done for weddings i was a bridesmaid for and i do my own makeup and come that morning all ready ...

I'm doing it as part of their gift. It's definitely not expected but if you do want them to have their hair make up done it's a nice gesture for you to pay for it.

I wish I could pay for those services but my bridal party is huge and I just couldn't budget for it. I gave my bridesmaids the choice for hair and make up. I hired make up and hair for myself and they've all chosen to do the same while we're getting ready at the hotel the morning of. It definitely wasn't expected from me or them to do anything. But it's all worked out and they are happy to be able to get ready with me.

It is totally not expected for the bride to pay for that. Every wedding I've been in so far one of two things has happened: either the girls are asked if they want to have hair/make up done and if so they pay. I've only been in one wedding where the bride paid for our make up as our gift which was really nice. I'm debating doing this because I really want all the girls to have their make up done, and I know it's expensive. I think most people will be okay with getting their hair done though.

I'm paying for all my girls' hair and makeup as their gift. I would want that as a gift, so it was an easy choice. But I agree, that it can get quite expensive. If it's not in your budget, perhaps you can pay for one or the other?

I am not paying for hair and makeup - if budget allows I will try to pay the tip for everyone. But, i also told them they didn't have to do it if they didn't want to.

It's definitely not expected, but I am paying for my bridesmaids hair as part of their gift. I gave them the option of getting makeup done but all are going to just do their own makeup instead of paying for it. My SIL did the same thing where she paid for hair and gave makeup as an option if they want to pay for it themselves.

I am not planning on paying for hair and makeup but am giving my girls the option to do it on their own or with me. I have friends who are doing our hair and makeup so they will be giving a very good price

I am paying for my MOH hair and makeup bc I don't have any other bridesmaids in the bridal party. If I had a full bridal party I would've paid for their hair only bc of selfish reasons and want my pics to look nice lol I've seen some bridal parties where you can tell one or two girls did their own and had a ponytail or messy bun like they just came from the gym.

This is exactly what I don't want, which is why I'm asking all my girls to have hair and makeup professionally done. But I can't afford to pay for them to do it. So I guess I'm in the minority here and kind of a bridezilla lol. So they can use the hair and makeup people I hire or can get it done on their own if they find better pricing.

I offered it to my bridesmaids and gave them the pricing. They all want both hair and makeup done. I'm paying some of their makeup (they don't know it. I just feel bad bc its a lot) but I told them they didn't have to do either of they didn't want. I've been in weddings before and never has the bride paid for my hair/makeup.

I'm not paying for either. I have a big bridal party and I couldn't afford it. I did tell them I hired people and then let them decide if they wanted to get it done or do it themselves. Most of them are going to get it done with me.

All of my girls are having their hair and make up done and none of them expect me to pay for it either. I am going to chip in a little bit towards it for all of them as part of their gift but I definitely can't afford to pay for all 5 to have it done.

Personally, I think that if you want them to have their hair and make-up done then you should be the one to pay however if you are not requesting that they get their hair and make-up done, they pay. I allowed my girls the option of doing it themselves or paying for it to be done. I am having someone come to my house the day of. I have a large bridal party and as much as I wish I could pay for all of them, it just isn't possible.
