Bridesmaids hair question

Bridesmaids hair question

How are you asking your bridesmaids to wear their hair? I am having a bridal party of 9 girls and was originally thinking of just asking them to wear it up. But the more I think of it, I'm not sure if I should ask them to have it all the same way....

What are you ladies doing or have done??

I'm having 7 girls and am letting them do whatever they feel like. Some have really long hair and some really short so it will be hard to all make them wear it the same way.

Mine will do it how they want. I don't want to make them unhappy or uncomfortable. I think most of them will wear it up but I KNOW of one that will wear it down.

I only have 4 bridesmaids and I told them to wear their hair however they feel most comfortable. Some look great with it up while others look better with their hair down and no fancy up-do. Personally, I would not like to be in someone's wedding where I was told I had to have my hair up, for example, since I look ridiculous with my hair up...it just isn't me. That is totally up to them..everyone's style is different.

I understand what you are all saying. I don't know what to do. I've been in a bridal party where we were able to do whatever we wanted and I was in one where the bride asked us to have our hair up whichever way. I just thought that looked more elegant than the 1st wedding I mentioned. I dont know, I still have time, I don't want to seem like the Bride Nazi.

I dont think its right to ask your friends to wear their hair a way they would feel uncomfortable or less attractive.

I had no desire to make my bridemaids look like uniformed soliders - so I told htem they could wear whatever jewlery, shoes or hairstyle they wanted.

I dont think my bridemaids could have looked more elegant.

I think it is always best to let the ladies be who they are, ie do a style that suits her, nothing outrageous obviously. I let my ladies make their decision on certain things like their hair and shoes. People tend to look better and feel better, when they comfortable and they will not look like soldiers in an army.

Happy planning

Thanks ladies! I actually agree! The more I think of it, I don't think it would be very nice of me

Re: Bridesmaids hair question

I have been in bridal parties where they requested a certain hairdo and where they didn't and neithe rbothered me but I do agree with letting them pick. (But then ago I let them pick their own dresses!)

I let my bridal party pick their own hair style ... I just asked that it was appropriate for a formal event. Three got updos, two went half up and half down and one has short hair so she did the top in corn rows. I think the different styles just added to their beauty because it brought out their own personality!

Quick story - My friend's SIL showed up as if she just rolled out of bead and when she saw all the girls had gotten their hair done she tried to fix her hair and threw it up into a clippy (still not appropriate for a formal event). My friend wasn't upset just annoyed. That is why I specified 'appropriate for a formal event'. My MOH teased me she was dying her hair purple .. I said it didn't matter as long as it was neatly groomed!

They should be able to decide their hairstyle on their own.

My BM's are having their hair done either with me or on their own. They will wear their hair any way that they want!

I have 5 girls and I want them to wear their hair however they like it best, and however they feel most comfortable. I also let them pick their own (all different) dresses. I would hate being told what to do if I was a bridesmaid. In fact, I was bridesmaid twice & hated what we had to wear, how we had to do our hair, but I'd never hurt the people & say it.

I'm basically doing what bridetobe said. I feel that a wedding is a formal event and therefore the BM's should have a 'formal' hairstyle. I'm not telling them specific hairstyles though, just to style it appropriately.

I have to say I'm totally against asking anyone to wear their hair a certain way. Especially since I'm one of those people who would and could never wear her hair up. I have had a complex about my ears since I'm a child, and have NEVER gotten over it. If a friend/family member told me I had to wear my hair up for their wedding, quite honestly I would drop out. I'm that serious about it!!

I am sure they will all appreciate being able to wear their hair the way they want.....it will make them all feel more comfortable, and LOOK more comfortable!

Another vote for letting them do what they want!

I'm letting everyone wear their hair however they feel comfortable. They are all getting it done professionally, but that was thier own choice.

At first I wanted everyone to wear their hair up.....but have since decided that is better to let them do what they want!

Thanks ladies! You all make sense! I don't know WHY I would even think of doing that! Thanks again!
