Bridesmaids in Brown anyone?

Bridesmaids in Brown anyone?

My FMIL is saying the men must wear brown tuxes. This sounds like chocolate brown over-load. Any suggestions on what you did or are doing or friends did? Help :( We're using David's Bridal so I was thinking either their male partner store or Men's Warehouse for tuxes.

FH doesnt care for anything and is picky....but he loves 3 things......the banquet manager, our photo, and MENS WEARHOUSE...he went and did that himself and felt so comfy and they really helped him...

Im not sure why when bms are in brown, ppl think theguys have to go brown too!! NOT AT ALL!!!... I say go black!!!!!!!!!!!

itll def be brown overload IMO

Bring a pic of the BM dress with you when you go...and theyll help you out....maybe do black tux and black vest.....or black tux and shade of brown

Build a tux mens wearhouse

Heres the link to menswearhouse build a tux...you can go thru their selection from home and pick out the tux jacket and pants, and then the shirt, vest/cumberbund, tie/bowtie...

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!

I will have brown BMs and GM in black tuxes. When it all matches it reminds me of the sixties when my parents got married. Not my taste but some people like it. Do what you want there are no rules anymore..

My BMs are wearing brown. I haven't decided if I am going to do brown tuxes. I may. Sorry I can't be much help. I need to see the brown tuxes in person before I can make that decision.

I was in 2 weddings and in neither of those weddings did the men wear brown tuxes.

In one they wore black vests and ties and in the other they wore brown and pink ties and vests. In both cases it looked great.

I've seen plenty of time the BM's in brown and GMs in black, looks great...if everyone were in brown I think it might look a little dull.

good luck.

My BM are wearing chocolate brown and GM are wearing black tuxes. I've seen it done and it looks great, esp if the vests/ties have brown accents.

My girls are wearing brown and my guys will most likely be wearing black w/ some sort of brown accent. FH is going to take a swatch of the girls' dresses when he goes with him for the tuxes so they can figure out what they want to do.

I have my girls in Chocolate brown dresses with a lilac sash - I think I'm going to do Black tuxes with a brown vest and a cream colored shirt and tie with a lilac bout. - I think it will look fine - I think that the brown tuxes would be too much brown...check out Jim's formal wear for men - they have a program that you can mix and match the tuxes online!! I think the black is necessary to break up the browns - we don't want a dooty fest !!! LOL

Re: Bridesmaids in Brown anyone?

I personally like black tuxes only. I don't think it matters what color the bridesmaids are wearing - the guys should be in black. I like the lighter color suits too if you're doing a more casual thing, but for me, if it's formal enough for a guy to wear a tux, it should be black. It seems like no one questions the color of the tux if the bridesmaids are wearing any other color - just brown - so why should brown dresses mean a different tux color?

Please don't let anyone tell you something MUST be done, however. If you like brown tuxes, go for it. If you want black, do that. It's you and FH's opinions that matter, no one else's.

Thanks girls! You almost all said what I was thinking - black tuxes and pink/brown accent type stuff be it a vest or tie.

I especially love the comment about everyone wearing one color looking like the 70s. Ha ha! Maybe I should actually do that - I do love retro, but then again, hmm, maybe not.

As usual, thanks for all the input!
