Bridesmaidzilla Strikes Again

Bridesmaidzilla Strikes Again

Yes I just made up a new category. With all of the friggen dress stress that this girl has put me through, one would think that she is the bride. No she is Bridesmaidzilla. If you recall I had to change the bridesmaid dress numerous times because nothing was good enough for her. The fit was wrong, the price was no good, the store was smelly, etc. I have been completely stressed out because of her. Loosing sleep & everything. Because of her I ended up having to change my entire color scheme. Which meant all my ideas had to change, end up in an argument with FH & have to have my invites re-designed.

So I did the nice thing and found a store that had two locations, 1 in Manhattan convenient for everyone but her & 1 in Long Island, no joke a stones throw away from her house. I was shocked when I received an e-mail from her on Wednesday morning saying she went to the store to get measured. I should have known it wasn’t that easy. I get a call today from the dress store saying that she refused to order the size that she measured & INSISTED on getting a smaller size. The dress is fully 100% satin. That means no give.

So I asked the sales women if I can change the size without telling her, she said sure. I get a fax of her measurements & the size chart. (her measurements are exact to the bigger size) Call my mom & she freaked out on me & forbad me to change the size. (you know the tone, short of her saying, I am spending all this money, you will do what I say) In the meantime my sister calls me & I tell her what happened & she wants me to call my cousin & explain the situation to her. Explaining the situation to her means a 1 hour conversation. 1. I am at work, 2. the order has to go in.

So an hour later my sister calls me back asking what I did & I told her I left her in the smaller size. If it doesn’t fit, she has two options, 1. re-order the dress & pay for another dress & rush shipping, 2. not be in the bridal party. Well my sister starts screaming at me. (remember I am at work & she is at work too)

tell me again why am i putting up with this issue still?? the dresses are ordered, if they don't fit i don't give a rats a$s.

Wow.

I would have just changed the size and not told anyone.

That *****, how aggravating. I hope somehow harmony is restored and the girls winds up fitting into her dress.

Some girls are so vain about their size

Re: Bridesmaidzilla Strikes Again

I have a friend who's in my wedding and I was in a mutual friend's wedding with her as well and she did the same exact thing! She was measured at just about a size 14 (barely) and the woman in the bridal shop said order the 16 to be safe and she wouldn't do it. The bride called the bridal shop and ordered the larger size without my friend knowing and when the dress came in she was like 'see, I didn't need the bigger size this is huge on me!'

I don't understand what the big deal is. Everyone knows bridesmaid dresses are rarely cut to actual size anyway and alterations usually have to be done. I say if you want to order the bigger size do it. It'll make you feel better and give you one less thing to stress about.

Wow, I think you have gone COMPLETELY above and beyond to accommodate her

At this point, I'd probably kick her out.

I agree with Heather. Perhaps you should send her tehinvite proof to confirm that it is in fact YOUR wedding NOT hers......

Wow, you've been so overly nice. I'm sorry that she is being so difficult, but she can't keep doing this to you. It's your wedding and she is really being unfair.

I think you did the right thing. The joke will be on her when she doesn't fit in the dress. I'd start preparing for her to not be in the bridal party but keep the door open just in case. She sounds like a winner!

Doesn't sound like a friend if you asked me and it's more like she can't be bothered. Why are you chasing this girl around? If I was you, I would in a nice way ask her not to be a bridesmaid. Tell her you are curtting the bridal party down and also for her own benefit do not want to see her having to go through all the cost and aggrivation which by her actions, it seems like it is..

Wow. I can't believe how some people can be... The fact that you went out of your way to accommodate this girl and she still gave you a hard time throughout it all is just ridiculous. But you're absolutely right - if it doesn't fit, that's HER problem!!

You are a better person than I am. I would have told her where to go a while back and reminded her that I want you in the BP, but it's my day, my way. It' s YOUR wedding and someone else should not dictate colors, dress, etc. Sorry you're going through this.
