I purchased mine at Moonlight Couture in Merrick. Robin has been great!

Before buying it from netbride.com, I tried on dresses in Paradise Bridals in Patchogue -- they were incredibly sweet and accomodating.

Estelle's Dressy Dress

I bought my bridal gown from there. My 4 girls including Jr. BM got their gowns there (no alterations required from my 4 girls) and our fathers, men and my DH rented their tuxes there. They no longer rent tuxes as they were not doing well in this area. The women who help me and my girls were all very kind, polite, not pushy, no snotty, very PATIENT, and very knowledgeable. They do recommend a seamstress which I got my bridal gown professionally adjusted to fit my body type. Overall, I had a good experience with them. They only have one location but the prices are very reasonable.

My gown is Mori Lee which I absolutely LOVE. I got it cleaned and preserved in a acid-free box. Their return policy stinks... 'All sales are final' as they give you store credit or exchange for something else of equal value. So, be sure it's 'the one' gown that you were meant to have as well as your BM's. They will put an order for the gown you choose which I got a fresh gown after 4 months, I order it exactly one year before our wedding date. I've gotten a lot of negative comments from my extended family about how a poor decision I've made to be so very crazy to order it one year in advance because of my weight. On my wedding day I fit into my bridal gown beautifully as I was meant for it. However, my BM gowns were taken directly off the racks, thus be sure there's no tears, and it's the color, style BM gown you want your girls to wear as 'all sales are final' policy. You can place an order for a BM gown if the do not have the size you want which I did that for my Jr. BM gown which will then be a fresh gown.

but RK bridal was great too- i actually found one there i really liked and then had second thoughts -they let me cancel the order for $50 a week and a half after i ordered because i was unhappy with it

They are great, no complaints and there prices are great!

i bought mine davids bridal in carle place. and they are very reasonable. $600. ask for malasia she was such a great helper. or check commack wedding center. if you find a davids style call them they have similar styles cheaper. unfortunatley my style wasnt coming out until may when my wedding is in october. just remember it takes about 2-3 months for alterations. good luck!!!!

Honestly - I shopped at many places. The first place is where I found the dress that I wanted. But I didn't care for the people, same thing at the second place and so on. I ended up at the Bridal Suite of Huntington - the people there are so amazing. They are the sweetest people - me being a people person - I wanted to make sure that the people I was dealing with were as well.
Some of my friends had problems with their salons and ended up going to the BS of Huntington to get their alterations done.
(they didn't carry the dress in the store - but they ordered it for me).
Also - their alterations were great! My mothers dress was also ordered from there and she had to have tons of alterations done to it - and no one even knew.

kleinfelds-they've been really great to work with, gave me a healthy discount, and a good selection. i had no problem getting extra fabric (making a tie for myb Dad) and having them ship it to me.

I had the best experience at The Bride Atelier by Mark Ingram in Manhattan. They had beautiful dresses and amazing service. Even if you don't end up getting a dress from there, it's very helpful to go as they bring you dresses that flatter you so you get a sense of what works for you. The downside is that you may fall in love with a $$$ dress!
