Re: Bridetobe - re RK Bridal

For the 'No Frills' service, your girls will have to provide their own measurements and pick their size based on that from the manufacturer's size chart. RK doesn't make any suggestions or input as to which size they think the girls should pick. Hope this helps.

Re: Bridetobe - re RK Bridal

yes, exactly what blushingbride said. Your girls will need to compare their measurements to the sizing chart for the dress mfg that will be provided to you by RK Bridal. (You can also print it yourself from RK's website.)

Five of my six bridesmaids went with the no-frills. Three of my girls were able to judge what size they were based on the store sample. One is so tiny that she ordered the 4 and it is big on her. One ordered a 6 based on her experience in other bridal parties she had been in wear she wore the same dress mfg. Only one girl had no clue of her size, so she decided not to go with the no-frills and paid the extra money. She will also have RK do the alterations.

I was in a bridal party once that did the no-frills and I had no clue of my measurements so I went to a local tailor and asked him to measure me.

Re: Bridetobe - re RK Bridal

Camille I just responded toyour forum mail as well.

One more thing to add, I was in a bridal party where we bought our dresses via the no-frills plan and I was the only girl who even tried on the store sample. All the other girls didn't even go look at the dress until it was picked up! They all went straight from the sizing chart or guessed based on their past bridal party experience.

If someone is unsure of their size go a size bigger. Rather too big than too small. I have had dreses ordered for me in shops where they measured me and they are always huge. In the end they always come out fine after alterations are complete. Once I had a dress that was more than 3 sizes too big and it was altered fine (they wrote my measurements wrong -reversing two numbers on my waist measurement...I use to be a size 2 and they ordered me a 10...).

B2B,

They ordered a size 10 when you were a size 2 and it was altered to be just fine, impressive. I guess to be on the safe side I will go 1 dress size bigger

thnx

Re: Bridetobe - re RK Bridal

It was crazy..and this was a professional dress shop...nice place. The dress would just fall off me. I didn't let them do the alterations. I told them if you can't take measurements correctly how can I trust you to do my alterations. I took the dress to my local tailor and he did a great job (and cheap)...

I wouldn't recommend going that extreme...like you said one size is safe and normal.
