some of those episodes are so fake, IMO. I really beieve that they hype up a lot of those situations for shock value.

I agree. They also film at the height of the wedding planning stress. I know I definately had bridezilla moments, but for the most part I was pretty easy going.

Re: bridezillas on WE

Actually, those are about 3 years old....my husband worked
with Tim McCooey (the Jersey bride, Amy) and all the couples
sued the show because they were told they were taking
part of a documentary about NY brides....well, they were, but
they had no clue the show would 'spin' them into bridezillas and everyone was really pissed off and won a case for some money, from what I heard!

Are any of them still married?
I wonder about that.

did anyone see the one with the Japanese bride (Miko I think was her name) who married Joe in NYC?

is it just me or did she CLEARLY only marry him so she can get American citizenship? he was so in love with her and she treated him like dirt.

I heard about that! That's why the second season, IMO, was much worse, b/c the people actually went on knowing they would be portrayed badly.

I wonder if Joe and Miho (sp?) are still together?

I was watching that one prior to my wedding, DH walked into the room in the middle of their segment, and asked if she was just marrying him for a greencard. It was so obvious.

I don't blame you! :)

I thought the worst bridezilla was Michelle, the English girl who was really rude to her mom and had her wedding-day hair done by her ex-boyfriend! She was really beautiful, though. But what a meanie. Her wedding was at Cipriani--she worked there.

Re: bridezillas on WE

miho was sooooo mean. i felt really bad for joe during that whole planning session they had with their wedding planner. he was like 'i like the idea of having a kid ring a bell to indicate it was time for dinner' and miho laughed right in his face. maybe it wasn't the best idea, but at least he was involved and interesed in wedding planning

I thought the most normal one was actually the girl Amy you wrote about

And the worst was a tie b/t Miho and that girl that married a man her father's age!

Re: bridezillas on WE

You like Amy best? She seemed pretty normal. I loved Cynthia. I think she got a bad, unfair wrap. She seemed cool and able to laugh at herself a little.

Re: bridezillas on WE

Or how about the bride that was in her mid 20’s who married that MUCH older guy who clearly had a lot of moolah! They’re wedding was on Shelter Island and probably cost a fortune. But meanwhile, it was pouring rain that day and they were in a tent, with mud. Sorry, but that wedding was not very “posh” IMO. They tried too hard.
