Bridgeview Brides?
Hey everyone! I am getting married at Bridgeview this coming August. We are having the ceremony outside on the deck and then reception in the ballroom. Does anyone have experience with the ceremony there? They mentioned that it starts at 6pm but I def think that is too late. 6-6:30 ceremony (a quickie!!), 6:30-7:30 cocktail hour, and 7:30 begins the reception?? I just think it seems too late! I am really freaking about this. My one pet peeve is a late dinner at a wedding. Do you think I can negotiate to get everything started earlier or is 6pm always their general start time??

I got married at Bridgeview but didn't have my ceremony there. We started my cocktail hour at 7:30 and it was not too late (we had it on a Friday). They served dinner around 10, so you would probably have dinner around 8:30/9pm which I don't think is too late at all.I think a 6pm ceremony is fine. One thing about Bridgeview, they know their stuff, and they execute everything perfectly.

I was really interested in having my wedding there but also had concerns about the late timing. They actaulyl told me cocktail wouldnt start until 7:30 I believe. They hold a lot of day events which is why it's hard for them to do things much earlier.

You have to remember that although dinner might not be served until later, your guests will be eating PLENTY at the cocktail hour! They definitely do a lot of daytime events, so it's possible they won't be able to move your time, but if you're really concerned I would just ask! Can't hurt!Best of luck!

Thanks everyone! I am emailing them now to see what they can work out. We are having a huge cocktail hour along with some passed horderves before the ceremony so I am sure people will not be starving... It's just a mental thing about eating late, kwim?? My wedding is also on the thursday night before labor day weekend so I don't think they have a day event. I will def check with them and see!

They probably don't and will be willing to accommodate you as best they can. Who is your Banquet manager?
PS: cocktail hour is AMAZING.

Re: Bridgeview Brides?
Thanks for the reassurance! I only met with Samantha and Eric for setting the date so far. We have not heard from them about anything else so I am assuming we should call them to set up menu tastings and going over the ceremony? I only have 4 months to plan

They will contact you to do the ceremony planning and menu picking closer to your wedding. I think I went a month or two before the wedding to do this.
If you want to do a tasting, you will have to contact them, as they only do it if you ask. You basically sit in the corner of the cocktail hour room while someone else's wedding is going on and taste the food that they picked. It's only the entree's. If you have specific questions about the food, FM me and I'll be happy to help :)
