Bridgeview Yacht Club vs. Fox Hollow

Hello fellow Brides!

So I FINALLY have it narrowed down between two venues...Fox Hollow & Bridgeview Yacht Club. We are getting married on a Friday in April 2017 (most likely April 21), with anywhere between 110-150 people (could be more). We are aiming to be in the Winter Garden Pavilion at Fox Hollow (I cannot express how much I LOVE that room).

However, there are a few concerns I have about Fox Hollow. I hope someone can help me out there (so calling all Fox Hollow & Bridgeview brides!)

- What time would the wedding start on a Friday night for the WGP? I saw a Saturday night wedding beginning at 8 PM, and I think that might be a tad bit late.
- Does anyone have quotes for the Somerley? I never bothered to ask because I thought it was too expensive, but I would love to hear some quotes (any time of year, any day, and the minimum. I'm just looking for an estimate).
- Is Fox Hollow negotiable? I know someone who got married there about 5 years ago and she said she got the price much lower, but I've read in some forums on here that they are tough cookies for negotiating.
- The stairwell seemed tight on the way up when we went to visit the venue. Did anyone else feel this? Just curious, maybe it was just me and I was fried from seeing 7 venues in 2 days.
- The WGP & Garden Terrace share a bathroom, correct? I cannot remember.

My only concern about BYC is that we won't meet their minimum. I hear they can throw in an extra station, but we shall see about that. Also, are they up for negotiating?

Luckily, we are going to the FH showcase on Tuesday so we can try the food and check everything out again. Any advice or suggestions, or literally anything you can tell me would be absolutely wonderful! Feel free to FM me as well :)

Have a wonderful evening fellow Brides!

Kaitlyn

Bridgeview Yacht Club vs. Fox Hollow

Yay! Love fox hollow! Okay so your questions...
1. Yes WGP does begin at 8PM. There was a bride on here who inquired about making it earlier but it would have had to be like 4-4:30 or something like that because of the Garden terrace room start time of 7 (6:30 if ceremony).
2. When I was there a year ago the Somerely was $25pp+ more than WGP or GT. minimum for Friday in August was 150.
3. They would not negotiate on price. We are guaranteeing 175 in garden terrace when we only wanted 150 so they threw in a bunch of extras to make us feel more comfortable but wouldn't come down in price or minimum because they do so well.. They know they'll book that date even if I were to walk out. If you're doing a daytime or Thursday wedding you may have more leverage.
4. The stairwells are tight, it's an old building. But I know there is an elevator for the bride and bridesmaids and handicapped guests to use.
5. Yes they do share guest bathrooms

Hope this helps!! :)

Renee pretty muched answered all your questions regarding Fox Hollow. We got married at the WGP and it was amazing. I too thought an 8pm start was late and was concerned about our guests but there was not one complain. Food, service and ambience was exactly what we had hoped for and then some. Let the wedding planning begin. Enjoy the ride :)

I looked at both and Bridgeview seemed a little more accommodating to meet our needs. Good luck. Both places are beautiful.

Thanks. I looked at The Woodlands this morning and now I'm more confused! I really think I want my wedding to be the only wedding. I'm going to the FH showcase tonight so I hope that helps my head. I don't know why I torture myself with looking at more venues!

I will be there tonight, along with a few other brides on the forum! My choice was the fox and I really couldn't find anything comparable in terms of the WGP. That's the room we saw first and with the level of service and reputation at the fox, I couldn't beat it anywhere else.

We are this november. In order to accomodate the later start time (8pm as you mentioned) we are doing our ceremony at 6 and our photos before that. We wanted to ensure daylight photos. They do do a half hour (7:30) greeting period with strawberries & champagne in case your guests want to arrive a bit early.

For us the location, uniqueness, and hotel next door is what sealed the deal for us. Good luck in your search, and maybe see you tonight!!

I loved the woodlands!! We really wanted something on the water and sept there was way out of our budget but she gave us an amazing price for end of march at woodlands and loved all the plans for the renovations! I didn't try bridgeview - I think that was out of our price range.

Yes I think the Woodlands might be my current front runner...just because when I went to visit today she told me they were ripping up the carpet for hardwood floors which are going to look great. I did get a good price for April so I am happy about that.

But for any Bridgeview brides looking - May to October is out of my budget, but November & April are very affordable IMO. If anyone would like my quotes, feel free to message me!

Glad to hear someone else had a good experience at The Woodlands!! She threw in a few extras too and we hit it off right away, but we will see how I feel tomorrow! This venue search is overwhelming and I literally change my mind every day!
