Brief review of Aug 16 Wedding at de Seversky Center
Hey girls,
Thanks to everyone for all the help during the past year, couldn't have done it without you!!!
The weather on my day was perfect and sunny but HOTTT!
Overall I had a wonderful wedding and many happy memories!
Vendors:
Rabbi Howard Nacht - A++++
Recommended by someone on this site, he did an amazing job. We got so many compliments on how personal the ceremony was and how he sounded and looked just like a rabbi out of a movie.
Live Wire Band - A+++++
Can say only great things about this band. They were very professional, looked great and sounded amazing. Again we got a ton of compliments and they kept the dance floor packed all night.
de Seversky Center - A
We had a couple of problems with them before the wedding day bc they tried to nickel and dime us on a few things but they really came through on the day of and did an amazing job. Everything looked beautiful and was taken care of the way it should be, the wait staff were excellent, and the food was delicious.
Fade to Black Video Productions (Gil) - A+
Haven't seen the video yet but just based on the day of, Gil was very professional and was very busy all day shooting all the important things. We are really glad we got video at the last minute and can't wait to see the final product.
Salzman and Ashley Photography (Howie) - B
I haven't seen the pictures yet so I will wait to comment but Howie did not seem to be very focused and I believe he missed some important shots. Maybe I just didn't notice him taking them and the engagement photos were awesome so I am going to wait to see the final photos before I say anything more.
Bleu Diamond Events (Gina) - B-
I had some problems with communication before the event (FM if you have questions) but she really came through on the day of and took care of some emergencies that came up.
Bridal Touch by Elena - A
Elena did an amazing job with all the girls hair and makeup and I was very happy. She was always nice and cheerful and a pleasure to be around. The reason she didn't get an A+ is that I was ready about 45 minutes late (and therefore missed almost an hour of photos) because she wanted me 'to be fresh' and didn't start working on me until too late.
Bonne Boulangerie - A++++
The wedding cake was absolutely delicious and looked perfect, exactly what I wanted. I had chocolate cake with dulce de leche and white chocolate mousse fillings. Fabulous!
Pedestals (Robert) - A-
The flowers looked amazing, although the centerpieces looked slightly different than our samples. The chuppah was spectacular and overall I was very happy. Rob was a little difficult to get in touch with but I guess he is just very busy. Overall a good experience.
Bridal Reflections - C on the day I bought my dress/ A after that
On the day I purchased my dress, the sales lady was like a used car salesman. She insisted that I had to buy the dress because I wouldn't find anything better and even told me that she would give me a one time discount that would no longer apply if I thought about it and came back to buy it. I felt very pressured and uncomfortable.
After I purchased the dress, everything was great. Zizi my seamstress was excellent and everyone was always nice and accommodating.
Girls got their dresses here and although they came in smaller than expected, Bridal Reflections handled any additional alterations due to the mistake for free.
Tuxedo Park - D
They were very difficult to work with, made lots of mistakes, but everything worked out in the end (no thanks to them). I would not recommend them.
Destination Dance in Forest Hills (Linda) - A+++
Linda choreographed our first dance and it looked amazing. She was always nice and patient and made sure that we were comfortable with every move. Highly recommended!
Regina B - A+
Got my earrings here and was extremely happy with them. At first the color of the pearls was not exactly right and they were a drop shorter than I wanted to Regina changed the pearls and added little extensions to them to make them longer without any problems. They were perfect!
