The surgery went very well. He's in the ICU, but breathing on his own and doing as well as can be expected. Now comes the difficult part - the rehab and recovery... but at least the surgery is over! That's one big hurdle.
To those who offered support here and privately, you have nothing but my thanks. I'll try to answer each FM personally as time permits (today will be another long day) - sorry if I didn't get back to you right away.
This will probably be the only 'formal' update I give on my dad. Long story, but some people are just really mean (privately).
More importantly, thank you to those who offered support, hugs, and prayers when I needed it.

Mean???? About your Father having surgery. OMG! I'm sooo sorry. Prayers are being said for your Dad, you and your family. Hope he has an uneventful and speedy recovery.
