brief update on my dad

The surgery went very well. He's in the ICU, but breathing on his own and doing as well as can be expected. Now comes the difficult part - the rehab and recovery... but at least the surgery is over! That's one big hurdle.

To those who offered support here and privately, you have nothing but my thanks. I'll try to answer each FM personally as time permits (today will be another long day) - sorry if I didn't get back to you right away.

This will probably be the only 'formal' update I give on my dad. Long story, but some people are just really mean (privately).

More importantly, thank you to those who offered support, hugs, and prayers when I needed it.

OMG, SO GLAD to hear! I only came on to LIW to FM you to ask how he was doing! I am so glad he's doing well! Please try to ignore anyone who is being mean, if they don't like it, they don't have to read it. I hear that DAY IN AND DAY OUT on these boards 'It's a PUBLIC forum...'. As long as you're clear in your subject line about what your post is about then anyone who doesn't want to hear it can just pass it by, and the rest of us who want to hear about it can read! I think the fact that your FATHER, who you’re close to, had open heart surgery 20 days before your wedding makes it VERY wedding related!!!

I'm so glad to hear your dad is doing well. He'll be pretty sore and tired for a while but I'm sure he'll do great. My dad had the same surgery last year and was out of the hospital in 4 days.

Oh I am so happy to hear that everything went well Kara!! I know you must feel like a weight has been lifted off of you, even though the recovery is just beginning. He is lucky to have such a wonderful daughter, and I know his recovery will go smoothly with you by his side!!!
