I take about 8,000 per mcg a day. As per my stylist and the girl that does my nails...you need to take the biotin everyday in order for it to be effective. I went to the vitamin store and the guy that works there also recommended taking silica pills to help with the biotin.

definitely biotin...and you can get them anywhere, any supermarket, any pharmacy, anywhere. i found they worked better for me than the prenatals. my nails grew like a weed.

im not at home right now so i cant look at the bottle but off the top of my head i THINK it was 1,000...i'll double check when i get home...my problem is im really bad with vitamins, ill take them steadily for a few weeks and then start forgetting...if you stop taking the biotin, within a week you'll see your nails go back to normal...but it does work very quickly. i saw earlier on this thread someone taking 3000...i feel like i would check with a pharmacist before doing that. i dont think biotin is one of those vitamins that has negative effects if you increase it that much, but i would double check. but i swear by it, ive never used anything that worked as well.

I use Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle. It's a clear coat of polish. I use it as a base coat or wear it alone. It works wonders!
