I'm pretty disappointed in what she's turning into. Yeah, she's getting older, wants to change her image, but I thought she was cool and sexy before and now it seems like she's just screaming for attention. Sorry, but that whole Madonna thing turned my stomach, and her new songs $uck.
I still think she's an awesome dancer though!

What i cant stand about her is that she professed to be a virgin (not that is anyones business whether you are or not) but to be so vocal about it, then one day say...ohh Im not a virgin!! WTF?? I love these celebreties that change thier 'story' to suit the situation!!

You see, she said she was a virgin when she was like 16 or something. Now she's 21 and she's not anymore! I don't see anything wrong with that. The only difference between her and I in that respect (and most of us, for that matter) is that she lost her virginity and people talked about it on television, whereas I was able to keep my private life private! Its not changing her *story* its growing up!

I hate her too...but because she has all the money in the world that she will EVER need....she is a fantastic dancer....and she has a GREAT body!!

I guess hate is too strong of a word....how about I am ENVIOUS of her!!!!!!!!! to be 21 and on top of the world...I just hope that drugs and drinking dont make that world come crashing down around her!!

Ohhh Brittney...do you need someone to be your assistant??

I think she is more talented then Madonna.

It is hard to judge someone that is in the spotlight like that. You can't relate to them because their lifestyles are so different.

She didn't change her 'story'...She changed her mind....lol.
She found someone she thought she would spend the rest of her life with and decided to risk it....and it didn't pan out.
It doesn't make her a liar, it makes her a young adult who changed her mind.

I do hate how one minute she's all little girl voice or southern accent and all 'yes ma'am' when it suits her purpose. I do think she is trying to portray ditzy a llittle more since Jessica Simpson has gotten so much positive press ...

Oh dear god don't get me started on that.

She's one of 'those' ... things.. taht make a lot of southern raised women cringe. (not all since i know she has a following) but GOD! She makes us look weak, stupid, indecisive and air-headed.

Oh, and I SECOND the thought that Britney backtracks and tries to rationalize herself constantly. Madonna just smiled her gap tooth grin and said 'Like i care?' That took balls and it took courage. She got caught early in her career with nude pictures, she could have cared less. Britney flaunts the 'one time' bit with Justin the point were we don't WANT TO HEAR IT ANYMORE!

So you spread your legs and humped the guy, gimme a break! Like you're the ONLY woman in the world who thought she was in love and gave it up? Nope. You aint unique and you aint special with that. Tons of girls do it everyday and they dont whine about like you do.. heck half of them have the decency to be modest and humble about the experience. Sheesh.

I don't 'hate' her..but I am glad I have no kids to be affected by her. My kids sister 14 never liked her either. We sat her down WAY early and said 'She's a spoiled brat with more money than our family will ever have, you can't really want to be like her? You think this thing is honest and fair?' Thankfully she understood.

Either way, for me the one thing that has always gone through my mind whenever the media talks about a young girl's virginity I'm always thinking: Her parents are watching this!!! I know I didn't want my mom to know I lost my virginity at the time. I think I would have dropped dead on the spot had my father found out (or asked )...I don't know, that's just what goes through my head when I hear these things.

Personally I understand where she is coming from. She stated she was a virgin I'M SURE b/c her reps told her she should for her image.
When she started her career in the spotlight she was 16. Think of the difference in your life from when you were 16 until you were 21. IT IS HUGE!!!! I don't blame her for not wanting to play the teeny bopper her whole career. She has grown into a woman and people have to respect that. If you watch videos with Byonce (sp?) she has even less on than Britney and is the same age. People don't convict her b/c she never came out as a 'teeny bopper' she came out acting like a woman in skimpy clothes as a young girl.

After all is said and done you've gotta respect the girl a little she's got 100 million more than most of us do JMO of course

i have to disagree here. i think anyone who is in the public eye, entertainer, sports start, politician etc. has to realize they are being watched and looked up to by kids.

so yes i think they all have a responsibility to show some morals and ethics etc. now i realize most don't do this and i don't fault britney for not doing it either. but i hate when stars just cop out saying they're not responsible and it should be the parents job. yes, it should be, but we all know it's not being done by the parents, and wouldn't you feel better about your career and fame and position if you were helping to contribute as a positive role model for children? i mean does she feel proud of herself that all she does is perpetuate the annoying stereotypes about women having to be pretty, skinny, sexy etc to get anywhere? i would, but that's just me i guess.

There's nothing wrong with Britney being Britney, but I would never want my children to idolize her. It's my job as a parent to make sure that doesn't happen.

As for Madonna, I used to have a lot of respect for her and the way she became famous until I watched her tongue down Britney with her 7(?) year old daughter watching. She would do anything to sell her stupid books/cd's and get attention. She's despicable!

I am not sure what to think anymore. I do think she's a young girl. she's 21 and has pretty much grown up in the spotlight, having personal issues made public. That has got to be hard. I remember making crapy choices at 21 too, thank god I did not have to be reminded of them in every magazine I look at.

I did feel bad for her when she broke down and cried. I think she has issues that she may not be dealing with very well. Boyfriends, family, parents, media, pressure, no education to fall back on, etc. she bites her nails, nuckle cracking, into wine statement 'to relax me', trying drugs, smoking, dressing provocatively, new sexual song lyrics, I think she is trying ways to release her stress and find coping mechanism (not that health of ones).

It's gotta be hard.

and I agree we had madonna who was always sexual and 'pushed buttons'. It's just kids know are so much more advanced in dressing skimpy, videos, being vocal, etc.

I can't say I hate her, and I think she has a rocking body, am I a fan,,nah. JMO, but she's too annoying in the way she trys so hard to be sweet & 'girly', but contradics it in her actions.

AND I agree, how naive of a statement, 'I am not responsibl, shut off the TV', during a prime-time awards show???? Of course girls idolize you, you can't deny that and shold consider it in your actions when you are so much in the public eye. Those girls are the ones who made you a star and bought your CDs.
