Ok so last year I took FH to see the Lion King for his Bday and this year I wanted to keep the tradition going and take him to see 'Grease' cause he grew up on that movie.....His bday is next month and I am debating on getting tickets because I dont know how long this strike is going to last. What should I do??

Just a heads up.....I saw Grease on Broadway and did not like it. The movie is 100 times better IMOA.
If you haven't seen Avenue Q yet I highly recommend it!

Yeah... I would wait it out. FH and I are going to see a play at The Beacon theater this weekend instead

I don't know if this will help but certain shows like Mary Poppins, Xanadu,Young Frankenstein, Cymbeline, Pygmalion, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Ritz'' and `Mauritius are still running b/c their stage hands are in a different union.
Maybe you could take him to one of those instead and do Grease next year.

I saw Wicked and it was amazing!!! Definately my favorite broadway show yet. I'm not sure about the whole strike thing you guys are talking about but if you're looking for different options....

I saw Grease and didn't like it also.. it was OK, but didn't compare to the movie IMO.
My favorite shows: RENT (seen it 4 or 5x), Phantom (2x), Les Mis (2x)
Also have seen: 42nd street (eh), the producers (ok), the king and I (great), ummm....

I say wait at least a week... hopefully this will be settled... I just read an article in newsday that talked about how this strike is boosting ticket sales to theaters on the island...so that could be an option too. Good luck!

If the strike is on when your show is scheduled, you get your money refunded. The last time there was a strike it lasted 4 days. If you're planning on going next month, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

You guys I found the best site for show,concert,ballet tickets but you have to join it's less than $30 a year.

Case in point, my co-worker is a member she gave me her info, and the show I went to see this weekend I got was at a discount price of $47.50 ea. on this site they were $25.00 ea. I was so bummed but now I know for next time.

I called yesterday to get gift certificates for broadway and they werent selling them yesterday, when you call there is this whole thing about the strike on the answering machine.
I loved wicked...and the little mermaid is coming out to heard that is going to be awesome!
