I want to take my sister to see Les Miserables for Christmas (She has never seen it, but knows the music, I saw it 10 years ago and want to go back). The tickets are $111.00 pretty much anywhere you sit (except allllll the way in the back--last two mezzanine rows are $66 and $36. Also, Partial View Orchestra Seats are $66. I would love to get great Orchestra seats but I really can't afford to pay over $200 for 2 tickets.
So, my question is-- how bad are partial view seats? I took her to see Rent a few years ago and accidentally bought partial view seats. It wasn't bad, the only scene we couldn't see part of was when they were at the Life Support Meeting which takes place on a raised platform above the stage.
What do you girls think I should do...I really would love to spend the money for great seats...I just can't....

Re: Broadway Buffs HELP!!!
Hey!!! I am a dancer and singer so I know about broadway. The partial view tickets should be fine. In every theatre its differnt. I once sat behind a pole. So I would call and find out what the partial view actuall means.....BUT You can probably see most of the actionm just not all the sets. And you will definatly hear all the music!!!! You could always try tkts but thats like a lottery you have to go that day and just hope they are there

Re: Broadway Buffs HELP!!!
Broadwaybox.com has great deals that I was going to get for Les Mis, but it's only for weekday performances.
I bought Les Mis tix for Saturday night and had to suck it up and pay full price. ugh...
Sorry... I don't know about blocked view seats!
That website is great, though! If during the week works for you for this show, you can save some dough!

Re: Broadway Buffs HELP!!!
I personally don't like partial view seats. I had a partial view seat for Cirque du Soleil 'O' and Phantom of the Opera. I also saw Aida front row (student rush tickets for $20).
I think it takes away from the whole experience.
However, it's really easy to change your seat if it isn't a full house. I've done this for several shows when I was in college.

I agree. I got FH partial view seats for Spamalot when it first came out. They were about half the price of the other seats. We were able to see almost all of the show, just not anything that went on in the back left corner (which was pretty much nothing) since we were on the far left side of the theater.
I checked on the service we have from work that offers discounts and they don't have anything for Les Mis.

Re: Broadway Buffs HELP!!!
It really depends on the theater...which theater is it playing at? Man, I used to be so up on theater and now I'm so out of the loop! That's what starting a new career does to ya!
When I first saw Les Mis I had partial view, and it was fine (wow, way back in 1992!). But like I said it depends on the theater. I might have an idea if you tell me which theater it is. Sometimes partial view means way up in those boxes on the sides- it can hinder your view and enjoyment of the show sometimes.
I haven't been to a Broadway show in AGES! And this is a musical theater major in college talking- depressing!

Re: Broadway Buffs HELP!!!
I saw Les Mis twice- once in orchestra, once from the LAST ROW of the mezz....I saw the entire show both times, and when we sat Mezz, my neck didn't hurt from looking up!
I say go for the back of Mezz...you're going to love the show!
