Ok, I am really clueless when it comes to nails. I posted the other day on BHB about silk wraps or tips. I decided to go for wraps and make an appt for tonight to get it done. I figured my nails were at a good length now, so it would work out well.
Then during lunch I see some storm clouds. FH and I left the windows open in the house this AM. So I raced home, and when shutting the storm windows, I cracked a nail!
When I get wraps done tonight, can it hold the nail together, or will they have to cut it down and then I'd hope it grows back in 2 weeks?
Sorry to be so dim about this stuff.

it'll hold it together for now until you get them re-wrapped.. I do suggest that you go and get it fixed though.. you don't want water to seep into the crack b/c you'll get a fungus..

I don't have wraps on at all right now, just my nail. I'm hoping the wrap will 'mend' it because I'll look silly with decent length nails on all my fingers but my middle finger. So I think you are saying the wrap will put my nail back together, just like Humpty Dumpty? Aaah. I hope that is what you are saying! I'm trying to save the darned thing!

They should be able to put it back together, otherwise they can just put an extension on to make it match the rest.

yes, the wrap would mend the nail sweetie.. =) or they can do a glue manicureon that nail.. =)

thank you! just the answe i was hoping someone would give. i'm leaving in about 20 min to go to the salon and was afraid they'd cut my nail off!
