Brooch Bouquet

So, I'm completely anti-flowers. Not a huge fan, so I decided to go with a brooch bouquet. Anyone else doing this instead of flowers?

I am! Already have about 15 brooches wired and ready. Just gotta get some more.

Yes!! I am doing a brooch bouquet! I'm making mine and I'm having my mom include a cute little saying in the shower invite so in lieu of a wishing well gift... family members can bring a brooch!

The saying is a little something like
'Help make Katie's bouquet... bring a brooch for her bouquet!'

I was thinking of a brooch bouquet but I've heard some horror stories of them going wrong (DIY),.
Ike it not holding properly, and months and months of trial and error, and I'm just not crafty enough or have enough time and patience to deal with this. Anyone have a fool proof easy method to putting it together?

I love them and I really wanted to make one for myself but was worried that it wouldn't look as good as the ones on Etsy. I'm sure Katie's will come out awesome. I love that idea of having everyone bring a brooch!
