Re: Brooklyn hair salons
if your willing to travel to Bay Ridge, try Salon Da Noi. They do INCREDIBLE work and have a makeup artist in the salon as well that does great work.

Re: Brooklyn hair salons
Faces is really good...I've had my hair done there for formal occasions before. I think all of their stylists are great!
I looked on their website and it says:
Party Hair: $50/$65 Formal Hair: $80/$100
I don't quite know what the difference is.... but I thnk it will be btw $50 and $100-- closer to $50!

Re: Brooklyn hair salons
I have 3 friends who have had their hair and makeup done at Salon Da Noi for their wedding specifically and came out GORGEOUS!
I have 2 friends who used Lush for their wedding day and 1 girl looked BEAUTIFUL the other girl honestly, not really. They put too much makeup on her and she is so naturally pretty she didnt need sooo much... and her hair was terrible... But their bridal parties came out nice, both of them...
I went to Lush once for a haircut with Grace and I didnt like it AT ALL. She didnt do what I asked for, she pushed EXPENSIVE products down my throat, which I DIDNT buy, but she kept pushing AND I walked out with my hair still damp because her friend came in for a haircut or something and she became distracted and rushed me out. I didnt personally have a positive experience, but like I said I have had friends who have... Maybe she had a bad day when I was in... =/

I grew up in that area, and I know my mom and sister love Dina at the salon in the shopping center near the bowling alley - I can't remember the name, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Dina did my sister's hair for her wedding. It was 1/2 up 1/2 down and she looked great.

Salon Da Noi in bay Ridge...ask for Olympia...she's the best. She's also the owner and trained some of the ladies that work for her.
Pilo Arts - Dana and Stephanie are good.

My bridal party and I are getting our hair and makeup done at Concept Elite. It is on U and Ryder. They are reasonably priced and do a nice job. I went to try them out before (for hair) and really liked what they did. I have also had my makeup done 2x by Lorraine - she is awesome.

Concept Elite is excellent. My best friend and her party got their hair done there for her wedding a few months back and it was amazing.
Also, in Mill Basin, Scissors & Company salon on Avenue U and East 66th (in the shopping center with Key Food and La Villa) I have gone to for special occasions/updos for years. They are also excellent.
