I'm honestly not sure!! I've never lived in an apartment, I've lived in the suburbs all my life so I'm not familiar with anywhere.

I think i'd prefer an apartment over a floor of a private house. Preferably close to public transportation and stuff to do!!!!

Thanks!!

We moved into out apartment in Rego Park a month ago and I LOVE it there! The neighborhood is tree lined, we're so close to store on Queens and Woodhaven Blvds, even on 63rd Drive (which our block is off of) there are laundromats, dry cleaners, pizza and chinese food, diner, grocery stores. But the best part is that we're a 10 minute walk from the R and M trains (previously the V train) and it only takes me 30 minutes to get home. I would highly recommend it!

ETA: Also, the parking isn't bad either but the alternate side kinda *****

I'm in Flushing/Auburndale. Very quiet, near a bunch of stuff which includes the LIRR (3 blocks from my house). 20 min ride to the city.

I think Sunnyside/Long Island City is a great area to live in. Literally steps from Manhattan and public transportation.

I currently live in the Elmhurst/Middle Village area. I'm about 5 blocks from the subway and Queens Center Mall. They've been building tons of new apartments over by me. I'd definitely check it out!

I live in Bensonhurst Brooklyn and just steps away from shopping and the D train to Manhattan. I will be having an apartment for rent hopefully by the end of the month beginning/middle of August. Tenant should be moving out today but I want to fix it up some - paint, new stove, fridge, bathroom vanity, etc. It is a one bedroom with a back porch. The bedroom has a walk in closet and wood floors. Gas and electric would be included but no washer/dryer. FM me if you are interested. I will need references.

We’re in the Jackson Heights/East Elmhurst area. It’s about 15-20 minutes from the city (driving). About 10 minutes from the train station to get into the city.

P.S. I am very close to Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights, Sheepshead Bay.

Jackson Heights, Astoria, Sunnyside, Woodside, LIC...
Depending on your price point these are all great areas. All are accessible to train and highways. The furthest one from the city is JH and that is a 1/2 hour from the city.

Use to live in Bay Ridge def the best.. I miss it ALOT it takes about 45mins to get to 34th street not soo bad but it just seems forever and a day on the R train (I was the last stop on the R). We bought a condo in Woodside- I love my place just dont 'love' the neighborhood complete opposite from Bay RIdge hence the reason Im always at my parents house lol Although I love the commute from Woodside-- 15mins and Im in the city (F line) so with the good comes the bad lol!!

HTH-- Good Luck
