Have you ever been to Riveria or Giandos on the Water? How is the food? Do you have any pictures? DO they decorate for the holidays? DO you know starting price ranges?

Re: Brooklyn RH
I haven't, but try doing a search. Put in the names of the places you're looking for and maybe someone has mentioned them before in a thread. Good Luck!

Re: Brooklyn RH
I grew up around the corner from the el caribe -- it is beautiful and I've never heard anything negative about it. The grand prospect hall has a beautiful ballroom, but to use the grand ballroom you have to have a minimum of 300 people. They have two smaller rooms. They have up to 3 events going on at a time. That was the first place we looked because we live nearby. If you don't mind other events and no grounds, the interior is very pretty. We wanted to be on the water. I have friends who went to events at giandos and loved it.

Re: Brooklyn RH
I went to see riviera when I was looking for a hall. i really liked it there but the space was too big for my small wedding. I think its a perfect hall if you're having 200+ guests. They do one wedding at a time and they put on a really good show. I've heard good things about the food. Although I have never been to a wedding there, two of my friends went to two different weddings there and they both loved the food and the hall. I think I was quoted $105 for a Friday night and $115 for A Saturday night. I don't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure those are the rates they gave us. However, I checked rates in 2006 for a 2007 wedding. It was for April which they consider off season.

Re: Brooklyn RH
El Cribe is beautiful. I used to grew up in the Mill Basin area and pass there whenever I got to Gil Hodges Lanes.
Of course the Palm House, Riviera, and Giando's are great choices too, thought the PH is more money. Grand Prospect Hall is nice as well.
Hey as long as it's not the Glen Terrace (used to work there when I was 18) or the Oriental (attended a Sweet 16 there), then you're good.

My older son had his wedding at the Riviera in Brooklyn and it was amazing. It is the Brooklyn Russo's on the Bay. The food, service, room everything was amazing. The CH was to die for and you also get about 12 entrees to choose from plus seconds if you want. You won't go wrong having your wedding there. They also only do one wedding at a time and have a nice outdoor terrace where your guest can go to smoke, relax etc. We took pictures out there also. You won't go wrong having your wedding there. Good luck. I think my son paid $120. pp including venetian hour on a Sunday for the Riviera, but don't hold me to that. Also JMO I t h ink the Riviera blows the El Caribe away.

The El Caribe really is amazing. We just went for our tasting and they have made the place look beautiful. I guess im just partial but to be honest with you we have two really big Italian families that LOVE FOOD>..LoL and the El Caribe is perfect for that!!!!!! and JMO but i don't think any hall is better or worse than another it is just a matter of preference and what exactly you are looking for!!!!

Re: Brooklyn RH
I went to look at Giandos with FH and I kinda didnt like the area the guests would have to travel through (all factories) late at night and I didnt like the fact that you leave a small deposit and pay the rest the day of your wedding. JMO It didnt sit right with me.

My RH is the El Caribe, but I have been to a wedding at the Riveria in brooklyn. The service was great and the place is very beautiful..There were at least ten entree choices, the food was delicious.

i've been to giando's for dinner and a few christmas parties, never a wedding though. But it is beautiful there.. it's not far from where i live so a lot of neighborhood events are held there. The food is excellent.. but other than that i don't really know much. A few people i know that got married there said they loved it.
