Brother/Sister dance

Brother/Sister dance

Okay.. Let me rephrase the question since Sylvia (THANKFULLY) informed me that U2's 'One' is not the best choice for a brother/sister song.

Whats a good song to dance to with my brother???

Anything with kind of a rock edge & no sappy-ness would be perfect

Thank you!

'One' by U2 is a song about break-up...not sure you want that...

He refers to 'sisters' and 'brothers' as in meaning 'people'...not literally brother and sister...its a little confusing.

Mike and I love that song...it was actually our 'song' when we first started dating and were going through the 'rough' times...if the words were different it would have definitely been our wedding song.

Its all making sense now that I just pulled up the lyrics... I was kind of disecting the song in a different way.. I was going wayyyyyy to deep!! Ha ha.. I just love the part where Bono sings.. 'We're one, but we're not the same, We've got to carry each other.. carry each other..

One love.. one blood...

You get my drift.

Any ideas??? A rock song would be perfect.. but not hardcore rock.. like a rock ballad.

sorry i can't help you. I'm going with 'Hero' from Mariah Carey, which is very sappy. It's a surprise. The only person who knows i'm doing this is my FI.

What about the Spinners - 'I'll be around'

ETA: oh, sorry you want a faster song, what about Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughn - that is a little more rock

American Girl by Tom Petty
Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison

I think my brother & I are using Thank you by Natalie Merchant.

I think its fitting. He has been the most supportive person throughout my life-especially since our dad recently passed away.

My sisters and I all took turns dancing with my youngest brother to 'our House' by madness. It was so much fun and EVERYONE loved it.
Although since I have five brothers I can tell you we also danced to
'Bad to the Bone' by George Thoroughgood
'He aint heavy, he's my brother' by I forget
'you've got a friend' by James Taylor
my other brother was married when I was 13 so I don't remember.

I like the idea of 'Thank You' by Natalie Merchant

If you are close with your brother I think this would be a good choice: Wind Beneath My Wings (Bette Midler)

Some others:
In My Life (The Beatles)
You're the inspiration (Chicago)
What A Wonderful World (Louis Armstong)
That's What Friends Are For

GOOD LUCK
