Yesterday we went dress shopping & my FMIL ordered a stunning gown. She got it in a brown. She was a little concerned about getting brown in April. They didn't have many many colors available. Brown looked great on her & the dress really flattered her. She just called & said she lost sleep over getting brown because one of her friends made a comment about the color in the spring. The dress is beautiful & it was a toss up between this one and another much more expensive dress. The sales lady even kept pushing this one over the more expensive one which had a more of selection of colors.
Anybody else seen brown in April?? I feel so bad that she said she lost sleep but I also don't want people talking about her

I personally think brown is fine for spring or any other time of year for that matter- maybe she can add light pink accessories or something to make it more spring-like- but only if she wants to do that

Brown is fine...plus, it goes great with a lot of the 'spring' colors like pink, green and blue.

My MIL is wearing a brown dress the last weekend in march. I would of never thought of her wearing such a dark color. I don't like dark colored dresses for weddings. No offense to anyone, just personal preference.....but when she put it on, it looks beautiful on her!!!! The style is gorgeous and it looks beautiful against her skin.
So go with your gut and if it matches your bms no problema.

Why not. I'm using black and pink in my June wedding and lots of people tell me that its too dark of a color but who cares about them. I care about my pics and the colors that I like. So I say tell her its ok.hth

Thanks girls... i told her to go for it... the color does look great on her. i guess she is a bit upset at her friend's reaction
