Congrats and welcome!

I really like the idea of a brunch reception--very quaint. I wouldn't worry TOO much about people dancing--if you're serving enough mimosas, they'll dance.

Re: brunch reception

Hello and Congratulations!!!! I LOVE the idea of a brunch reception. I didn't even think of it when I was planning but it really is a great way to save some money but still have a wonderful wedding! I think that giorgios at foxhill has a brunch, also anthony michael caterers at mill pond golf course has one, oooo and my hall, The Meadow Club, has a brunch reception menu as well (i saw it way after i booked ) Good luck!

Re: brunch reception

Welcome to the boards and congrats on your engagement. FH and I considered this initially. I think its great and festive and sophisticated, without the big price tag. We opted for the party in the end though. Look for places with a view, outdoor and indoor space, great brunch menu or consider a Cocktail Reception. Something near a park, lake or something like that.

Re: brunch reception

I went to one at Majestic Gardens in 2007. it started at noon and ended at 5. They had breakfast foods (french toast, omlette station) and your typical dinner/lunch menu...

They also had a cheesecake martini bar which was great. There was a DJ and dancing and it was a lot of fun!

Welcome!

Re: brunch reception

I love brunch and would love to be going to a brunch wedding. I am not doing a brunch for my reception bc FH and I want more of a party but, I have been hinting all over about a brunch shower lol. I saw an ad for the thatached(sp) cottage for a great deal on a brunch wedding, if is very pretty there it may be worth checking out.

I havent. But Giorgio's offers this option...you might want to check out their web site. They have the menu up on the site

Re: brunch reception

Welcome!

I'm having a brunch reception at Giorgio's. We're getting married in the garden and then having the reception brunch overlooking the golf course, it's so pretty. You get lots of food, and I mean tons! We're having a small wedding (55 people) so a brunch is perfect. The cost is a lot less than a dinner too. We're at $55pp, $400 for the ceremony fee. We're not having a band, we're having a piano player. Giorgio's is going to put their baby grand in the center of the room and our piano player is $450. Here is the menu from their site, http://www.giorgiosatfoxhill.com/content.php?id=65. I'd definitely check them out and try them for brunch...they offer it every Sunday, unless there is a wedding of course!

Here are the other places I looked at but decided against. I dont remember all the price details, sorry!

www.millerbeachsurfclub.com Gorgeous view and great outdoor area but the room was small and you get hardly any food. Everything is extra...you have to pay extra for bacon! LOL Who has brunch without bacon?

www.bellportcountryclub.com Cute but you're right on the golf course. if anyone is playing golf during your ceremony you'll be able to hear them and see them. The menu options were a bit limited.

http://www.lessings.com/UNI_venues.asp?ui=SMI&ven=w Very nice. Menu options were great, price was great, Donna the catering manager was so nice and willing to be flexible. The only reason we didnt book here was becasue we really wanted beach photos (Giorgio's will drive you down to the water for photos). I'd check them out for sure.

Good luck!
Laura
