Bubbles or Petals?

In my mind, there is no comparison. Petals all the way. They are elegant and show up beautifully in photos. I was caught in a bubble shower and its not pleasant. Ive heard that bubbles stain but you will need your dress cleaned afterward anyway so that shouldnt be a problem. Ive also heard that if the petals get wet, those can stain too.

Where do you buy petals for throwing?

Does the florist just provide them? or do you purchase those fake ones? i wanted to have little packets of the throwing rice mixed with petals prepared for the church and if i use real ones they'll be all dried up by then.

Bubbles or Petals?

I like both. The sun reflecting off the bubbles looks beautiful in pictures. The scattering of petals on the ground makes for an awesome photojournalistic shot. You can easily find non-staining bubbles these days. Our church doesn't allow petals so we're doing bubbles. Given the choice, I probably would have gone with petals, but I'm kinda glad I won't have things thrown at me (getting caught in my hair, etc)

Where do you buy petals for throwing?

you can get them from the florist, approx $10-12 per bag. I think romanticflowers.com also had them.

Bubbles or Petals? I had both

We mainly used petals, but I picked up some bubbles on sale so we gave them to the kids. Someone also decided to throw a few handfulls of rice - so we had all the basis covered. The pictures look fabulous (If I do say so myself) Nothing stained My dress was satin

Where do you buy petals for throwing?

Depending on your florist, they may include them in your package at no charge. It can't hurt to ask! Plus, they can match the color to the other flowers in your party.

Make sure Church allows petals

Many churches aren`t allowing petals anymore, or rice either. Our church only allowed for us to use bubbles .. which at first I didn`t think I`d like, as I thought the only benefit was that nothing would get caught in our hair or go down my dress. But we went to a wedding several months before ours, and they used bubbles and it looked amazing. So I felt better about it. I think many of the wedding bubbles that are sold are non-staining, but if you do choose bubbles, make sure to ask prior to making your purchase.

I vote bubbles........

I used bubbles, and glad that I did. Firts off, my church charges you for a clean up fee if you throw petals. m glad I chose bubbles, because it looks so pretty in the pictures. Even in out video, the videographer had the bubbles sparkle when we walked out of the church. Personally, its a matter of choice, but the bubbles were also a lot cheaper.

What if ceremony and reception at same place?

My ceremony and reception are at the Watermill. Any ideas on if they allow some sort of toss, and where? Has anyone else had both at the same place? If so, how did the toss go?

I am having ceremony at receoption site...

We are doing bubbles...Actually FH really wanted this and he lets me do whatever I want with the rest of the wedding, so I couldn't argue...I am having my 2 cousins hand out bubbles and programs at the hospitality half hour and will have them explain to blow the bubbles as we are walking back down the aisle...its the only way I could think of to work it in...But I will have my flower girl do the petal thing...
