So I am not sure how much to budget out for all the incidentals... My parents are paying for the hall and the band which I am soooo thankful for!! But i have no idea how much to save up for everything else.... We cant afford to go over the top but I was thinking like $10,000 for everything else. Is that too much, too little.. Help please!!

However, I know if you budget well and really research out vendors you can do the rest for 10k

Re: budget...
I think that give or take... $10,000 should be fine for the rest of it. Since you aren't paying for a band or the hall. All you really need is:
Church(ceremony) Minister (or any person who's marrying you) Flowers Centerpieces Favors Photography Limos Marriage Lisence/Fees Dress Hair/Make Up/Shoes/Accessories Tux Possibly flower girl dress/ring bearer tux Unity Candle/Guest Book/Cake Server/Champagne Flute Cake Topper Gifts for bridal party Rings Misc expenses.

Re: budget...
I think that it is going to be tough to keep it at $10,000 for everything in that list. Not impossible but difficult. Both the Flowers and the Photography can be a couple of thousand dollars.

Re: budget...
it could be a little much, but it depends on which vendors you use too.
Florist, Dress, Tuxes, Limos (I assume you only need one for such a small bridal party like me), odds and ends too.
But, I can help with all that. Tell me what you want and I'll google price lists. I also know a few amazon and ebay sellers that I order cheap things from and they came to me in GREAT condition. :)
i got my veil for $26!

Re: budget...
To be honest... it could be doable.. but you need to be willing to put work into it and know where to shop around. Luckily.. we do have 2 years!
If you need any info, definitely feel free to FM me.

Re: budget...
without counting my hall or DJ, i probably spent about $13k.
and that was without going over-the-top with anything (low CPs, simple invitations, no expensive extras, etc).
i think $10k 'extra' for you is a little on the low side ... but it is absolutely do-able if you plan to stay on budget and not buy everything you see on LIW

Re: budget...
the hall is def the biggest expense....
i would say maybe more than $10,000.
just btwn the limos photographer and flowers were lookin close to $15,000.

Re: budget...
I'm really hoping to stick to 10K as well. Tonight I'm going to do some in-depth budgeting calculations ( i haven't really factored in the minor things, just the big ticket). Seeing what the damage is really going to be, oops !

Re: budget...
budgeting is depressing. we are not rich and i do not want to put my parents in a bad financial situation bc of my wedding. I get so nervous when i find out the reality of what other brides have spent, mostly the RH's. I'm considering doing things like having it on a thursday or cutting out dinner and doing a spectacular over the top CH and desert hour. Bc we want to buy a house and this wedding could potentially set us back more than half of our savings im very stressed

Re: budget...
Casey, i know what you mean about other savings.... my parents are thankfully taking over the RH and we're responsible for everything else. I listed EVERYTHiNG I wanted and then ranked what I wanted most.
Like I super wanted a photobooth but at $1000 it went to the bottom of my list. FH said that I talked about it so much and seemed so excited about it that is it really not that important, and he was right, I moved it higher and decided I could forgo expensive centerpieces, and could DIY menus, programs, table numbers and escort cards, and things like that

Re: budget...
exactly i am also going to DIY with my BM's as much as I can and I am collecting the instructions on how to everything now. I also have a friend who is a floral designer and have seen that she does a great job so I am enlisting her and I am also debating having a friend who is a photographer do the photos but I am wary about that one bc photography is important but its also really expensive

Re: budget...
Ok so I just mapped out the details of all the rest of everything and when I thought it would be 10K or so, it ended up being a lil over 15! AHHHH
This includes every detail that I could think of, but seriously...
I guess i'm just really not sure how much to budget for DJ/flowers/limos etc b/c I haven't started to book them yet so i'm hoping I just overestimated...

Re: budget...
This is an estimate of my budget so far for a 200 person wedding:
But... I'm getting a lot of photography for my money (and it's a Thursday), getting a lot (including 2 strings) on the DJ and my centerpieces are low. I think our budget is closer to $12 without the RH. I kind of blew my budget a little bit...
