BUDGET Bride's honeymoon?

BUDGET Bride's honeymoon?

Going on our honeymoon President's Week of 2013- any suggestions??

I know that the further down we go-- the best... due to the season. I have also heard that DR and Jamaica are the most bang for your buck when on a budget. Anyone get any good prices?? I really want to stay under 3,000 with airfare- all-inclusive. Is this even possible??

So stressed. Maybe we should consider Florida. LOL

I've been to Jamaica a few times and it's so beautiful and affordable.

Maybe Sandals St. Lucia - you might get a great All Inclusive deal!

Excellence Punta Cana is AMAZING also. Only downside is you're stuck to 'resort life,' but it's so secluded and gorgeous!

Stayed at the Riu at DR and we had a great time besides the food. I been to the Riu in Punta Cana though and I have to say we had the best time and the food was much better.

Yes, you can go on a honeymoon for under $3000! FH and I haven't started to plan our honeymoon, but we did visit Punta Cana, DR in May 2009 for less than $2,000 for both of us! This included all inclusive for 1 week plus non-stop airfare from JFK to DR.

Im sure your budget will def be doable for either place but keep in mind since its winter and a holiday wknd, prices will prob spike for that wknd.

We stayed at Barcelo Punta Cana and yes it was all inclusive. The resort wonderful, but the food was just okay. The Spanish restaurants were the best.

Book early. The airfare will kill you that week bc they know that all the school's are out. I am going away during the Easter break. That tends to be slightly less expensive bc most school's breaks are off by a couple of days. We stayed at a Sandals in Jamaica (Ocho Rios) and had an AMAZING time! It was so wonderful that we will most likely book Sandals in St Lucia for our honeymoon. For the Jamaica vacation, I believe we were right around $3000, maybe a tiny bit more.

Good luck and happy planning!

Yes its crazy how the prices spike. My friend was looking to fly out to Miami during this president's wknd and the airfare was INSANE! The price they were charging her for just flights alone was more than I've paid for flight + hotel in the past! SMH

Also, I went to DR back in '07 and stood at the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort. Hotel was great, rooms were nice and roomy, staff was nice. They put on shows every night, had a bowling alley, casino, activities by the pool, rock climbing wall, etc. Food was really good. Don't know how it would be for a HM but just giving you a review in case you happen to come across that place.

Over the summer in July I went to DR for 5 nights 6 days, and with airfair, and all inclusive at RIU palace, it was 1200 per person. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! I would deff recommend if you are on a budget. RIU palace is amazing, they have 5 other resorts on there property and you can walk to each one and enjoy all there services if u stay at the RIU palace. They have a wonderful little shopping area and a great club called Pacha. If you want to look at pics I have them up on facebook, just friend request me at Fay Stathellis, or Fanoula169....The food was amazing, I deff recommend eating at the French(best food ever) Italian and brazilian...the buffet was amazing each day, if u go to Riu maccao (right next door just follow the path) one of the nights you have to ask for Danny he makes the best drinks and the BEST sunrises ever. As you can tell I will deff go there again Im thinking of doing my bachelorett pary there :)

I think DR is the most affordable and they have lots of all inclusive resorts. Check out cheapcaribbean.com. You can find really great deals and there are reviews of each place.

Would you consider Aruba?
Only downfall is the week your going is SUPER popular with families and you won't get that 'HoneyMoon' experience you may get elsewhere.

Flights anywhere that week are going to be alot more then others because it's one of the most popular time for families to travel... in that case stay away from Aruba and pick somewhere a family wouldn't go.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but since it will be Presidents week ur going to pay a lott of money to go anywhere, even if it is all-inclusive. Friends of mine went on their honeymoon Presidents week last year and spent somewhere upwards of $10,000 for Sandals in St. Lucia. Would you consider waiting a few weeks or months so u dont end up paying as much and u also have something more to look forward to after the wedding??

You can also try Couples in Negril or Ocho Rios Jamaica. It's just couples and it was very nice.

You should try cancun, and Key West FL. FH and I went to Key West twice and it is our favorite spot! We met tons of couples who where honeymooning both times we went

I wish :( We actually decided to have the wedding in february to save money on the wedding itself. We knew we'd be overpaying for the honeymoon though :( That week works out perfect for me because I am a new teacher.... I would love to wait and save more money... but gotta go when the kids are off! LOL
