Budget Brides Question...

I feel like there was already a thread but i can't find it...

All my budget brides-what steps are you taking to save money for the big day?? In addition to the common not eating out as much/bringing lunch to work?

*I already have a 2nd job
*Bring my lunch every day
*Cancelled my WW membership-don't need that AND the gym!
*Getting rid of $50 home phone bill we don't even use
*cancelling starz channels-don't use it
*saving change.

I need some other suggestions of what else i can cut out!

yeah well..I canceled cable! yeah its an issue. FH says he's done w that.

we were commuting together. he hates it. sucks ballz.

trying to eat more at home.

and cut lots of things like programs, napkins, matches, limos, RD...

I'm going to try to do my own invites.

coffee!!

duncan donuts every morning can run ya $70 a month

a large cup cost 2.27 x 7 days = 15 .89 a week

time 4 weeks a month is $63.56 !!!



Ya dont think about it- but it addes up

so my FH and I spent 127 a month on COFFEE
'that's 1500 dollars a year!!!

NO MORE!!!

As for things not related to the wedding, so far I'm...

-Cutting out all unnecessary shopping (sad, but totally do-able)
-Attempting to make my coffee at home (this is hard in the summer when I just NEED iced coffee)
-Accepting more bookings during the week, when I normally wouldn't. Also booking more events that I typically don't take on, because they pay more and I don't want to turn down business.
-Turning down offers to do fun social things...pick and choose, you know. It will all be worth it!


Wedding related, to cut corners budget wise, I'm...

-Doing nearly everything myself
-Keeping my flowers to a minimum (it works out because I am not a huge flower person)
-Probably not hiring a videographer
-Only getting towncars to the wedding. I don't need anything fancy at all
-Getting a simple, buttercream frosted cake. I will decorate. Again, fortunately this is my preference anyway and it will save me a ton!
-Making my own favors & escort cards
-A few other things up my sleeve....

if you have a car, plan your trips so you don't waste gas.

write down everything, I mean everything you spend everyday, you'll be able to see exactly where the money is going.

make dinner at home (if u don't already do so) as much as you can. Trust me it really makes a difference.
