So, what / where was the one area that you didn't go over budget and were actually able to cut some corners??

I'm cutting my flowers by doing my own centerpieces. I think it's going to cost me about $200-300 for centerpieces compared to the quote of $1350 from the florists.

diy programs and many other things computer calligraphy at inkspun (really inexpensive) purchased candelabras and am adding flowers that are costing me about $80 per table instead instead upwards of $150 each found inespensive yet elegant invites online..got 175 for $350 I also saved with my vendors because I am a february bride...I picked the day because it is the same day my great grandparents were married in 1927..but that worked out in my favor...lol

Re: Budget Friendly
Overall I saved with my vendors because we're getting married in January. But, I saved in invites. I got 150 for $350. I think I did fairly well at my florist. My total bill came to 2k and that was for centerpieces for 20 tables and and flowers for a bridal party of 22. I also got an outstanding price for my Photog. He's great.

DIY-menus, programs, centerpieces, favors. Shopping off Craigs and getting used items and using coupons and/or sales.

Re: Budget Friendly
A lot of DIY...I made my own cake topper, guest sign-in book, donation scrolls, table numbers, cardbox, unity candle and tapers, and placecards...bought the FG basket at Party City and decorated it myself...bought my invites online... had my calligraphy done for less than the average price ($1/set)...paid c*sh for vendors to save the t*x. Getting married on a Sunday, while we didn't know this when we started looking at RHs and we had already decided we wanted to get married on the water on a Sunday afternoon, saved us $$

Re: Budget Friendly
We pushed our wedding date pack 2 weeks after our BM informed us of alternate dates that would save us money.
I'm considering using Proflowers.com for boutonnaires/corsages/4 centerpieces and bouquets. Centerpieces will probably be potted orchids and candles. We plan on gettting the orchids in NYC's flower district at a good discount.
This was my first post- YAAY!

Re: Budget Friendly
-Flowers (centerpieces are mostly floating candles with a few flowers); -cake (was never important to me so we went very basic); -RH (destination wedding so less people...same price per head as many NY places-but less people) -no videographer
