Budgets

we went over budget w/ the hall. We budgeted for 225 people and we are now close to 300

we over budgeted the guest list we went alittle over the plan so far all these little things keep adding up...

I am so bad- I didn't have a budget. I just tried to get what I thought was a reasonable price and tried not to add it up in my head!!

Me too! Sometimes I think I should have had one!

dress, honeymoon, the list goes on.....

So far we are doing a very good job of staying within the budget give or take a few hundred . . . hopefully this trend will continue

The invites, but I wouldn't call that an overbudget so much. I could DIY them for a certain amount of money, but changed my mind and decided to order them. Yes, it's more money, but my fiance is OK with it, he doesn't want me taking on more than I can handle. Other than that, which is only about $100, we've been great. Got the venue in for the price we wanted and my gown was exactly what I had estimated. It came down to two gowns, one was the 'right' price, the other about $300 more. I actually liked the cheaper one better, but I thought the more expensive one might be a little more appropriate for a daytime semi-formal wedding. But I decided to go with the one I liked better that fit my budget. Who's to say what's appropriate anyway? My shoes are a little expensive, but since we had talked about me getting Peter Fox shoes, and these are about half of that, so they're practically cheap at $160, right?

We're doing well. But then this is all our own money, so the more we spend, the fewer shoes I can buy next fall!

We've done well, except in the RH. We were waaaay over in that area (even though our place is reasonable). All of those budgets in the wedding planning books are not realistic for LI (I keep trying to tell FH this - LOL).
Tried to make up the overage in other areas, but we are still $7,000 over where we wanted to be

We're on budget for:
our clothing
the reception hall
the favors (DIY)
the rings (we expected )
non floral decorations/ceremony accessories

We're over budget for:

invitations
photography
the limo
the cake
the flowers

These items total about $4k over budget...

where did it all go

And I am not going to tell my FH how much it is costing my father, not even under torture...but as soon as I can I'll post a picture.
You must wait until February 20th, though, for my first trial.

i think i am doing pretty good. fh and i had different budgets in mind....so maybe thats why!
my dress was at budget, flowers, photog, and video all on budget...i think if anything i went a little over on the bm gifts....but i love my girls!
