I just got this book and started my work outs yesterday... I hope I'll be able to stay on track. Just being excited with the start. The workout took about an hr, including referring to the book how to do the exercises. And today my back hurts just a tiny bit.

Re: Buff Brides
Thanks Alina, I looked up the book, this is what I found, and I'm ordering it TODAY w/a few other books I need:
Amazon.com Whether you want toned arms for your sleeveless gown or flat abs for your honeymoon bikini, certified trainer Sue Fleming can help you get in better shape for your wedding, even if you have only six months. This slim (106-page) book presents a six-month strength-training daily workout guide with cardio recommendations and a 'crash program' if there’s only 12 weeks before the wedding. The strength-training exercises are basic, beginning workouts using dumbbells, stability ball, step, and ankle weights, all clearly explained and illustrated. The cardio recommendations are very general--for instance, 75 minutes per week for weeks five and six, doing one or two activities that raise your heart rate for most of your workout, which should last at least 25 minutes. Sadly, Fleming runs through just a few ways (walking, running, and biking) to get aerobic exercise, but doesn't explore the huge array of cardio options or give much detail on this essential fitness component. Recommended for beginning exercisers who are committed to following a regular program and need specific strength-training exercises. --Joan Price

Re: Buff Brides
Marcella:
The excercises in that book are actually pretty basic things that most of us have done in the phys ed classes in HS or body sculpting classes through a gym... The pictures and descriptions are pretty much self explanatory. I would agree that one does not need that book if they are already following some sort of weight training/cardio/toning routine. I hope this book will be helpful to me in terms of establishing a specific routine and changing a few things, while increasing intensity, as time goes one. I like how in the beginning it lists the excercises in the Monday/Wednesday/Friday format, and as you proceed, that schedule changes to having more specific excercises of each of those three days.
BTW, its cheaper through amazon than barnes and noble, and I got it in like 2 days after ordering.

Re: Buff Brides
It's a decent workout- I have it too. Similar to what my first trainer would have me do. If you're interested in weight loss though, you need to add cardio. Good luck!

Re: Buff Brides
KellyDan, but they recommend doing cardio, starting with 60-80 minutes and gradually upping that to 120 minutes per week (which to me is 4x30minutes). I guess one could increase cardio up from the beginning to do the weightloss.

Re: Buff Brides
Marcella, I think they carry the book in barnes and noble, so you can look at it there and purchase on amazon, to make sure it doesn't have the gimmicks. I do agree with you on all the gimmick books that they have there for nutrition fitness and any other topic.

Re: Buff Brides
I try to do pilates 3 times a week, because for me it's easier to follow pilates to strecth as opposed to stretching..
and I hit the gym 5 x a week.... I do at least 30 minutes of cardio (on mondays I do 45-60) and every day I alternate dif body parts...changing up my routine every 2 weeks..
Mondays, I do legs, glutes, then I do cardio Tuesdays, I do chest and shoulders, then cardio Wednesdays-abs, then cardio Thursday-back then cardio Friday, bis and tris, then cardio...
