Buffet vs. Sit down????

with a large spanish family not sure which way to go?

Buffet is a bit cheaper but a little less fancy. Depends on your wedding style, IMO.

Personally I think a buffet takes away from the class of a wedding, but like the poster above said...it all depends on the style you are going for. If you want a more relaxed setting, then there is nothing wrong with a buffet.

I have been to weddings that had both and with the buffet, the only drawback I saw was there was no specific seating. They actually had less seating than guests because they thought people would be up mingling around. I prefer the sit down, but it is all up to you!!!!!

I prefer sit down...no lines and more elegant.

I think a sit down is more elegant and for a wedding. A buffet with a large family and everyone getting up and standing on long line to get food doesn't seem like a good idea.

We have a large Spanish family and we are doing sit down, but you can do what ever you want. I just knew that I wanted to have a sit down wedding.

do whatever fits yours and your family's style. we went with buffet for ours bc our buffet line goes through the shark tunnel, which is pretty nifty. they will be setting up 2 stations as we will have close to 100 people, which minimizes line time. there was a $20 diff in price for us, so that sealed the deal, but if we were getting married at a regular RH we probably would have done sit down.

I've been to both. It's all on personal preference. Sit down is elegant and formal, but buffet offers a relaxed, calm atmosphere.

I am doing buffet, but its not going to be like a 'chow line', the stations will be scattered throughout the room. I was originally opposed to the buffet b/c i dont want it to be like going to sizzler or something, so the BM showed me how we can set ip up to make it look better.

Belive it or not, some of the places I looked at, the buffet was more $$ then the sit down We are doing sit-down because we are going very traditional (and that was one thing my mom requested), but there is nothing wrong with buffets

Im having a sit down, but I actually really enjoy buffets. I like eating when I want to, not when I have to.
